We LOVVVVED our stay at the St James hotel. It was literally a 2 minute walk to the French Quarter and everything was so convenient. Chophouse restaurant is right next door and supposedly has the best steak NOLA has to offer. We didn’t get a chance to eat there because the night we tried it was so busy. I’d recommend making a reservation. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Andrew and Cc were the best. The room was beautiful and really gave us that southern feel we were looking for. Housekeeping came every day to ask if we needed anything. We stayed from Friday to Monday and it only cost a little over $200. I can’t remember the names of any of the places we ate or drank at because we went during Southern Decadence and we were literally just popping in and out of places. All in all, the trip was amazing and I can’t wait to go back. Next time we’ll stay longer.

Very noisy. You will hear everything outside your window. Was woken up by trash trucks and people yelling. Talking loud in the hallways. The pool is tiny like a pond, the pictures are deceiving. If you have a pet there is no grassy area for them to use it. Your told they will have to go on the cement or walk two blocks to a “park” and your still paying the extra fee to have a non service dog.

Location is great if you want to be close to everything but far enough to have peace. The styling of the hotel is french inspired so it super cute. There is construction around the area but besides that I would stay there again.

Very pretty & well kept. Some issues with the building entry doors & the pool is super small, more like a fountain turned into a pool but can be overlooked as a visit to NOLA isn’t about the pool. Would definitely recommend & return to this small lil gem.

We had a fabulous stay! Opted for a pool view room instead of a balcony so that we could check in earlier (desperately needed a nap after our 5am flight). The staff was amazing and accommodating. The pool view was beautiful and exactly what we needed for those hot NOLA days!

We stayed 5 nights, we slept well, the hotel is quiet and clean and comfortable. Good location, easy walking distance to restaurants, Bourbon Street and the French Quarter, the river, etc. staff were good, responsive when we asked for something, room was cleaned daily, no complaints. We ate breakfast in the lobby one morning, food was good but service was a bit slow. We felt safe and were happy with the value we got for our money with this hotel.

Wonderful stay!
The location was perfect for a family. We were within walking distance of all of the local attractions and landmarks. However, we felt tucked away from the busyness and tourist traffic. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet!

My review with children over 12
There is no street parking so do your best when you pull up. We are independent people so no door man helped us. I did not certain people got cookies at check in but I did not. The room was amazing. The children loved the pool. I felt bad because there is no towels by the pool I Had to ask for towels every day. We were there 4 nights. I brought my trash and towels down because I’d not they collected to much in the room. I would stay here again. Also there is an additional 11.00 fee a night they don’t tell you about for being a historical building. Plus the glass water bottle is not free just the water. The staff is amazing and nice up front and at the bar! You can find cheaper parking on spot hero if you don’t mind walking. Great stay if you have children.
