For starters microwave and fridge are only available in certain rooms. Hotel tried to charge me $200plus for parking/valet when i didn’t even have a car at the location. Asked for a receipt for my stay and was told that they couldn't give me one. Ice maker didn’t work on the 3 floors i tried. Drug deals and homelessness rampant at the store across the street. Every staff member (valet, front desk, security) all seemed to have an attitude. Housekeepers did an amazing job. Canal street is right around the corner which was good. Mr. Ed's which is connected to hotel has pretty good food.

Let me start with the purpose of this trip was for my daughters to attend their grandfather's funeral. I almost always book with Wyndham because of the wonderful facilities, etc. We actually just stayed at another wyndham hotel at rehoboth beach a couple of weeks ago..and as always, it was amazing. This was absolutely not up to wyndham standards,nor ours. Paint/wallpaper peeling, bathroom sink and tub drained very slowly. No refrigerator. Ran out of ice. The pool, which is a big readon i booked it, was over-chlorinated. Couldn't stay in. Fortunately, their aunts were staying in a nearby hotel, and they were able to enjoy that pool. Unacceptable for the money spent.

All amenities are nearby to the property. Convenience stores, gift shops, local shopping, and lots of options for dining and bars. Area is relatively quiet, with easy access (walking distance) to Bourbon St, Canal, Royal, etc. Casinos are within 15 minute walks, as well as the river, Jackson Sq. Staff are helpful, friendly, and attentive. Property and rooms are great.
