Great Location
Great walking access to various parts throughout the city. Having a coffee shop and restaurants within the hotel is very convenient. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend not having a rental car, you can likely walk wherever you need, and parking is a premium.

Very unique rooms, large fridge, cool bathroom tiles, very tall ceilings and beautiful huge windows. there wasn't enough table space and only a single chair in my room. So eating in the room was impossible - or even really using the coffee maker proved to be problematic because there wasn't enough table space. they also charged extra destination fees, which weren't clearly indicated in the listing.

We requested housekeeping twice and they never came. Beds are terrible. TV wouldn't work and we requested engineering twice and they never came or fixed. But what really angered us was the host at the restaurant would not seat my daughter and me or breakfast until my wife came down from taking a shower even though the restaurants was totally empty and he was quite rude to us... said he wouldn't seat us until all 3 of us were there and we could sit at the bar if we wanted to eat??? We will stay at The Virgin next time for sure.

The staff overall were all friendly, welcoming, helpful. We were a little taken aback by the early check-in inconsistency. We were told early check-in fee would be $40 but when we went back an hour later the individual (different than the initial person we talked to) rudely stated that the check-in fee was $50. The location was walkable to close by street cars, Canal street, the French Quarter and far enough for a quiet nights sleep. The hotel itself was older going through renovations but appeared to make an effort so that the guests would not be inconvenienced by them. The pool area is very nice with a view of the city. The hotel has unique character. We as a couple would definitely stay there again.

Staff was nice, location was great but cleanliness and communication could be improved. Our in room phone didn’t work and our curtains wouldn’t close all the way to block the light. This is a fun place to stay. Staff is so helpful, dining options at the hotel are great and plenty of other options in the neighborhood are fantastic too. You can grab a streetcar a block away.

Hotel was beautiful, the room was excellent, loved the SMEG Fridge as well as the coffee shop next door. We found that the walk to Canal Street and Bourbon St. were not too bad. DId not like that there is no room service on the weekends, and that the Vallet is $50.00 a night.

This hotel is so beautiful. They have a lovely cafe and the lobby is gorgeous. The room is spacious, clean, and so comfortable. Also the bathtub was gigantic! (Loved it). I really enjoyed staying here—it was modern and classic at the same time. The staff is so helpful, kind, and friendly.

Not Really A welcoming environment.
The person who checked me in should not be in customer service. Unfriendly and neglected to share wifi info. When I called to get the info she was equally unfriendly. Generally this is not a property with great customer service. If you have a meal in the restaurant check the bill. I had a drink at the bar and was charged a kitchen fee even though I didn’t have a meal and would have left a tip for more than the 1.25 added to the bill. No one could explain the fee but it was eventually removed. Great location, charming atmosphere, not great customer care.
