The space

Enjoy your stay in New Orleans in a fully furnished and newly renovated 2 bedroom/1 bathroom c.1875 shotgun house located in the historic Treme, just one block from the French Quarter. Amenities include queen sized bed in the independent bedroom and a very comfortable full size futon sofa bed in the walk through 2nd bedroom, air/heat, furnished kitchen including fridge/microwave/oven/coffeemaker, apple tv and internet. All the furniture is brand new and the unit is pet and smoke free. Enjoy the front porch swing and authentic New Orleans courtyard.

The bathroom has a clawfoot tub and shower as well as lots of natural light. Hair dryer and toiletries provided.

You are walking distance from the French Quarter and popular areas such as Frenchmen Street, the French Market, The Faubourg Marigny, The Riverwalk, Decatur Street, Bourbon Street, Royal Street, and Armstrong Park to name a few. Just a few blocks away (walking distance), there are 2 museums that you must visit: The Backstreet Cultural Museum and The New Orleans African American Museum.

We recommend uber/cabs/lyft to anywhere that is not in walking distance and late at night as an extra safety precaution. The streetcar is about a 2 minute walk away on Rampart Street is definitely a must on your to-do list during your visit.

The Treme neighborhood is very rich in culture and tradition. It is customary to experience a second line parade, hear the sounds of a brass band in the distance, or musicians practicing on their front porch. Characters of all kinds live in the neighborhood.

40th Anniversary Celebration FQ Fest!

My wife, Cheryl, and I love NOLA for a ton of reasons - not the least of which is that two of our sons and their partners live there. Of course, we also love the food and music and "vibe" of NOLA. So, when we were looking for a place to celebrate our 40th, it was not a hard decision. To add to the appeal, we found out that weekend we were visiting, was also the French Quarter Jazz Fest. What could be better?Well, to top it all off, we found Eric's lovely home and in such a great location. Our stay was wonderful and the home was beautiful. We'd stay again in a minute.

Terrific stay with a terrific host!

We had a great time in New Orleans and enjoyed our stay immensely. Everything was just as described. And our hosts were fantastic - providing extensive information about the community and even local music and events that were happening during our stay. This property is ideally located about a 5-10 minute walk from the Frenchman St. area and close to the French Quarter as well. We will be back!

Unique and cosy

Eric’s shot gun house just out of the French Quarter was an amazing find. Close enough to walk to harbour, Bourbon Street etc. Lots of restaurants close by and Eric is an excellent host and gave us many suggestions for dining and entertainment.

AMAZING PLACE!!

This was the absolute perfect place to stay near the French Quarter for Super Bowl weekend. I cannot say enough about how cute the house was it had everything that I needed. Eric the host was amazing and gave so many good recommendations of places within walking distance to eat and listen to music and I did so many of them. I can't say enough about how awesome this place was very New Orleans and how amazing the host was . The bed was comfortable and the front porch swing was peaceful to chill at in the evening HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Amazing Place!

This house is super cute and is in a great location. The host was amazing and gave a bunch of suggestions for music and food, the communication was awesome. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody that wants to explore New Orleans, and if we come back in the future I would love to stay here again!

It was exactly has listed. Great location, we walked everywhere. Eric our host was very communicative with great recommendations that did not disappoint. It was Mardi Gras, he supplied beads and fun masks to choose from. It got very cold for a few nights and all the amenities work wonderfully including heat & hot water. There was three of us and we always had hot water for showers every day. He left us recommendations for breakfast, lunch, dinner, music venues, bands!! The ones we were able to make were all incredible. A few months after our reservation was made, my father passed & I said we wouldn’t be able to come and leave my mother at home alone for a week. He allowed us to bring her and was very accommodating & compassionate. She had a blast!! We all did. It was an amazing experience.

Home Away from Home in NOLA

The three of us were perfectly comfortable in this lovely little shotgun bungalow. All the comforts of home, just a brief walk away from the French Quarter. The host was so accommodating and welcoming. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to New Orleans.
