Good sized room and very clean. The shared kitchen had everything you needed and was kept super clean. While they provided a fan for the room and had it on for us when we arrived, the room was very warm. Other than that was perfect for what we required
Perfect value for money lodgings. I would definitely stay again. The only downside worth noting is that the walls are a little thin. You will hear conversations and the TV from your neighbours.
Loved staying at Te Henui lodge the receptionist was very lovely and welcoming. The lodge was very clean and the facities were really good. The decor in the room was on point no extreme overload. The only let down we had was when getting out of the shower the hand basin was right there. Not much space in the bathroom in our room. However we would recommend this lodge to others who are traveling.
I have stayed here multiple times now when in town for a couple of days on business. Love arriving to a room that feels welcoming because the lights are on, TV quietly playing in the background, and in Summer has a fan going - make me feel expected and welcome. Rooms are always clean, and the beds comfortable.
Only warning - Walls/ceilings a bit thin, so can sometimes hear the 'neighbours' moving about.
Not really a hotel, more a student accomodation block for the adjoining technical institute. Also appearing to cater for other long time residents. So a bit like a youth hostel with separate rooms.
The room I had with my daughter was a double twin which we used as a base to go out and explore the city and nearby region. It had a toilet and shower which was wheelchair accessable ( not for us just mentioning). It had a fridge, microwave and electric jug. Tea and coffee was provided along with linen.
There was a comunal kitchen, tv room, games and social room. There is an outside courtyard with tables and bbq. None of which we used.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The facilities were very clean and tidy. Fresh linen was provided when needed.
It is within easy walking distance of the CBD.
The only negative comment I have is that I found it quite noisy at night and ended up buying some earplugs. On saying that we live in the middle of nowhere so it might not be a problem for most.
Room was very clean and tidy. Bed and pillows not overly comfortable but fine for our quick one night stay. Very warm room. The lip into the bathroom was a hazard, tripped on that multiple times.
Clean and tidy room ,all requirements for our stay, microwave etc, bed a little hard , shower great, location great to get our meetings. All and all a good place to stay
Staff was helpful and provided personal service. There was a large kitchen with all cooking facilities in addition to the in-room refrigerator and hot beverages. Nice common area and also outdoor eating area. Exterior access is secured at night.
We were looking for accommodation in New Plymouth and jumped on Wotif. Based on other positive reviews, we booked in for one night. The staff were so friendly upon check in and then when we got to our room we were so surprised at how clean and comfy the rooms were. There was the effects of the ex-tropical cyclone Gita on the coast and so we spoke with reception the next morning and reviewed local weather forecasts and decided to stay another night in New Plymouth rather than moving on to Wellington as we had first planned. Again, the staff were so friendly and informative and it was very easy to stay in the same room for an extra night.
We stayed in a range of places in our time in NZ and this is by far the cleanest and friendliest place we stayed and they have the best showers and most comfortable beds. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
At first, it may seem like a strange location, as it is in the grounds of the Institute of Technology, but this is a tiny matter and should not be a barrier to anyone staying here.
I was a bit annoyed that someone was using a jackhammer around 730am at the back of the motel. I was still a bit sleepy but Couldnt go back to sleep because of the noise so I just took a shower and checked out
I arrived late but was given clear instuctions on how to get my key via email. To my delighte I was greeted by the manager who was dropping some items at the lodge.I was greeted warmly and given my key and shown how to use it.
The complex is very tidy.My room had everything I needed .It was very clean and the bed comfy.Very thankful for the fan in the room as it was very hot at night.I would recommend for anyone looking for good clean basic friendly staff.Only a 15 to 20 min walk to town.
