Gorgeous condo but hot master
This condo is gorgeous and the location couldn’t be better. It is right on the beach and the pool is just steps from the beach— you can be to the pool from your beach chair in 1-2 min which was so nice with small kids! The help line on the app said there are no beach chair rentals in front of the condo but there totally are— realized this after hauling all of our chairs and umbrellas down. The condo was very clean and well appointed though the bedding could use an upgrade. Note that one pillow on each side of the master would be great. I would have given 5/5 stars except for the master bedroom and the customer service we received. We noticed on arrival that there was ZERO air in the master bedroom. It was a good 10-15 degrees warmer than the rest of the condo. To top it off, the ceiling fan didn’t work— the light or the fan. We messaged using the app and the chat line and we’re told to find the remotes. No remotes anywhere. Then we were told the owner doesn’t leave the remotes out so to use the switch— informed them switches didn’t work and that also, beyond the no fan issue, the more pressing issue was that there was no AC in the unit. We were told there were three box fans in the unit. We were already using those to blow cold air into the master. No one was ever sent to check if a fuse was blown on the switches OR to investigate why the AC was out. I messaged for four days in a row and no one ever came. They said the box fans were all they could offer at the moment. On our last night, we heard scurrying inside the vent near the ceiling in the master. Shortly after hearing that, we smelled the worst smell imaginable. Imagine the smell when someone has stepped in dog poop and the smell won’t go away—- that’s what we experienced. All. Night. Long. It was horrendous. We had to sleep in the bed with our kids. The animal was still scurrying in the vent all night. And the AC continued to NOT work.
Honestly, we would have been ok with all of this but the frustrating part was the lack of any attempt to remedy the situation. We spent four days at the beach in 90 degree weather with no AC in the main bedroom and were told to just use the box fans. Again, that would have been fine if anyone was ever sent to try to fix anything. But they weren’t, and moreover, they never reached back out each day to update me— I had to constantly re-message and contact them. We were left to feel as if no one cared. Very frustrating and disappointing.
