When I booked, I did so under the impression that if it was a part of the Hilton hotel chain, it would live up to the name Hilton. Well, I wasn’t totally wrong, but I wasn’t totally right either. From the moment I entered to the moment I departed, most of the staff was friendly, courteous, and very willing to assist in any way necessary. The room service attendants as well. Some of the cleaning crew, even when greeted in several languages, were downright rude! A simple acknowledgment of a “good morning” or other greeting never existed!!!
The room I stayed in was very uncomfortable! No closets, no drawers, nowhere to place ones clothes other than some hooks on the wall which gave the impression of living in a dump. I had to bear this for 5 days, and the accumulation of theme park sweaty clothing hanging from a hook on the wall did not make for a very accommodating room, not to say a very well scented one either. Oh, no coffee maker either. Having a cup of (bad) coffee every morning required a trip from the 6th floor to the lobby and back!!!
Breakfast, even when it’s impolite to look a gift horse in the mouth, could have been more in line with Hilton’s reputation. I didn’t expect luxury, but I did expect something more savory.
My stay at Tru was not all that it could have been if the chain had had better conditions to accommodate their guests. I don’t think I’ll ever stay here again!
