I didn’t come with high expectations, but this hotel pleasantly surprised me. The experience was simple yet very cozy, and we rested wonderfully. Highly recommended!
We usually stay at a home2 suites but I heard good things about this chain and wanted to try it out. The rooms are a lot smaller than home2 suites (obviously) but the room was fine for a night. Breakfast was good in the morning with lots of options. My only complaint is that there was a white strobe light that was going off all night and woke me up multiple times.
We had a good experience, room was clean but sparse (no closet), and breakfast was good.The only negative was our room was never cleaned, and we told housekeeping that we didn’t need beds made, just fresh towels and the trash emptied. Which never happened. We asked again at the front desk but only the towels were dropped off. They didn’t take away the used towels or the trash.
I was not aware of the parking fee of $20.00 per day which I personally think is terrible. I have stayed in the Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inns which never charge a parking fee, but I had never stayed in the Tru Hotel. I can tell you I will never stay at a Tru Hotel again. It is not for the elderly or handicapped. We stayed in Room 435 which was way down at the end of the hall and on the fourth floor. We needed the ground floor but there were no rooms available and we had made a reservation ahead of time. My husband and I both have trouble walking. This was not convenient either. The hotel is made for young people. We did not know at first how to turn off and on the lights in the room as you have to have a key card to turn on the entry light. This is a lot of trouble for elderly people. The breakfast was the same for both days, not very good variety like the Hampton serves. Not happy with our stay there.
Really liked the property. My toilet was not working the first night. I let them know in the morning and they fixed it sometime that day. Breakfast was good with lots of choices. Different choices each day we were there. The hotel was very clean and quiet. We would stay there again.
It was clean, conveniently located from positive prospective.
We didn’t like - noisy AC, squeezable bottles for hand wash is very annoying, didn’t like the soap in it, towels very old, time to replace. Bed is average, not comfortable enough. breakfast was very limited, nothing healthy, overproduced commercial cheap food.
Will look for another hotel next time
Twice during my stay for unnecessary reasons house keeping knocked on my door. The first was in the afternoon, they assumed I was checking out when I was not. They knocked on the door and after the first knock proceeded to enter the room. The second was on the day of my checkout at 9:30am even though checkout is at 12pm. When I stay someplace I expect to not be interrupted and not have housekeeping barge into my room.
