Nice location, not great for adult/elderly families
The house is in a fantastic location accessible to the town by walking. The living spaces are wide open and very accommodating for families staying here. The kitchen was nice with all the appliances and needs anvailable and in great condition. The host was very responsive and helpful when reaching out. Downsides are there is a half bathroom on the first floor, but the showers and baths are upstairs and have a great distance to travel to shower if you sleep in the basement. The house has character by being unlevel/off-kilter which will make bedroom doors hard to close and they will slam at all hours (even middle of the night). The unlevelness will make it hard for the elderly climb stairs. 2/4 bedrooms are tight spaced which makes it challenging for adult couples or elderly staying with you. Parking is behind the house, but is tight if you have 2 cars. We looked to extend the stay beyond new years, and was disappointed when we requested they doubled the nightly stay rate and upped the service fees because of “peak holiday season”, but when looking to book dates around that timeframe via the app they had nothing booked for a month either way which made it felt like price gouging.

Perfect place to stay with a house packed full of everything you would need. Clean, plenty of room for a family and a great location. We had an issue with the washing machine and the host was quick to fix the issue. 5 stars in our book!

Wonderful rental home in beautiful downtown Ouray!
We love this rental home! This was our third stay at this beautiful historic home. Our family had everything that we needed and more! This home was clean and comfortable and located directly on Main Street. We will be back, hopefully soon. Wish we could have stayed longer! Most enjoyable vacation ever in this awesome home away from home!

Not what I expected
First, let me say that the location on main street is very good, and communication about issues with property manager was excellent. However, part of the house is not level... especially the down stairs bathroom, property needs painting on outside very badly, cleanliness of property was acceptable but not great, kitchen was serviceable, bathroom in MBR does not have a door (awkward to say the least), toilets in very tight spaces and very low to floor, outdoor space was not well landscaped, stairs very narrow and hard to navigate, railings on stairs and on back steps had splinters if not very careful. Only one trash receptacle, which was not nearly big enough for 7 people... but property management was very good about picking up extra bags that would not fit in bin. With some work on the property it would be a good place, especially considering the excellent location.

Honest Review
This house served as a hub for my family which was spread amongst properties though we came together here to visit and share meals. First the good news: Good location if shopping is goal. Parking is easy. Management is responsive. Plenty of seating Kitchen is well appointed The upstairs beds were comfortable Basement stayed temperate Bad news: Bad location if privacy is key. Windows open to main street sidewalk with strangers peeking in. Far from luxurious. I would describe it as cheap lipstick on a crooked slanted very warm pig. First night was a mess. Oven didn’t work and no grill as promised. (Taken care of next day) Only one trash bin. Management took care of the overflow. The half bath is horribly outdated. Needs a lot of TLC to fix windows, landscaping, loose banisters/baseboards, peeling paint, etc. Really bad news: The house is warm. I am being polite - unbearably hot. There are underpowered fans that provide little relief. The windows on the street do not have screens and most are inoperable so there is no cross breeze. Closing the drapes & windows makes the house darker and does little to keep the morning sun/heat out. Besides that, I’m on vacation and resent trying to solve a problem that only real a/c can fix. We will not be back to this house. We have rented other spaces in Ouray that were much nicer and more private. I would probably be more forgiving if I had not paid top dollar for what was advertised as luxurious

Cottage in Ouray, Colorado
The cottage was in a great location in downtown Ouray. We were there to celebrate Thanksgiving with our family, so we brought everything we thought we might need for a big family meal. Turns out we could have saved ourselves a lot of trouble because the kitchen was so well supplied. There was plenty room for us all to be together, but also room for some privacy. The only negative was that the beds were full not queen, but definitely not a deal breaker. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great house in the heart of downtown Our
We spent a week here for spring break and the house was a perfect launch pad for our Our adventure - walking distance from everything and super close to the ice park and hot springs. Our dog felt very comfortable in the house and enjoyed the small but explorable yard, and we had plenty of space to relax and hang out. This is NOT an accessible home - the stairs are extremely steep and there is no main floor bedroom, and many of the rooms are quite dark. But the kitchen is bright and spacious and the bedrooms are all very comfortable. Ouro only real complaint was that the parking area behind the house was plowed so narrowly that it was extremely hazardous to get out of the car back there, and we had multiple slips and falls.

Ouray getaway
House was great, good location, kitchen was excellent, stocked with a lot of things you normally don't find in rentals. Only one issue with shower in secondary bathroom, was leaking into kitchen. Property manager was informed and they did have maintenance come look at it, but were not able to resolve while we were there. We were fine though as there were two ther showers available. I was told it would be fixed in the future. Overall really loved it though and would stay there again.

Wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
The location is great for convenience but is noisy being right on Main Street, especially at night for the people trying to sleep in the room next to the street. It was very warm for sleeping in all the rooms, so warm that one of the couples checked out vacancies in motels. Those two rooms have no cross breeze. The street side room needed the window to be closed for the noise and then they sweated even with the one floor fan. The second bedroom, in particular, is not a queen bed as described and is suitable for one adult or two children. The basement bedroom has no bathroom. The master bedroom has a bathroom with no door. The living room is quite dark because we felt unable to open the blinds as they sit right at sidewalk level for all to look in. And having a crawling infant with us, we found her knees and feet black from the floors.

Our stay was good. We really would have appreciated a heads up on the history of the historic home. Re: funeral home. Both my parents passed away within 2 years. So it was a little rattling. Things were great except for the basement bedroom. After a heavy rain, the smell of dog urine was awful. I don’t know if the basement carpet was put over a literal dirt floor or what. But it was odd. Location was great. The yard could be a little better taken care of without much cost. Overall it wa da nice stay.

A great location and historic building
Our family of six stayed for 3 nights and very much enjoyed our stay. We would absolutely stay there again. Since it was right on Mainstreet, we were able to walk from there to access everything in town, including the pool which was probably about 1/2 mile away. Positives: 1) Location (see above). 2) spacious updated kitchen - plenty of plates, mugs, silverware, etc. A nice island and seating area. 3) Four bedrooms. Some shared a bathroom, but if you need 3-4 beds, this would work well for you. 4) historic building gave an authentic sense of life in Ouray. 5) Parking - tight, but enough for 2 cars which can be helpful on a crowded day in Ouray. 6) Nice decor. It felt comfortable and homey. Negatives: 1) No AC. We were there on what may be some of the hottest days of the summer, but there is no AC which made the three upstairs rooms hot despite the open windows. 2) The building is so old, there is a lot of settling and sloping. It would be difficult for older people to navigate some of the stairs or even walking into some rooms. 3) The WiFi stopped working. Fortunately, a nearby restaurant had free guest WiFi that we picked up from the house. When it did work, it was 3 Mbps (somewhat slow depending on your needs). 4) The downstairs bedroom/basement felt musty and smelled like cat urine. Two of our family members are highly allergic to cats and felt it immediately. This could have been from previous guests. 5) Only double beds. Queen or King beds would have been nice in some rooms, but it works. Despite some minor negatives mentioned above, we very much enjoyed our stay and could tell that the owners went above and beyond to create a welcoming environment for guests.

Unique Ouray Stay - We Will Be Back
This main street property in Ouray is charming, - extremely spacious and comfortable! We were looking for a weekend home base that allowed us to explore all that Ouray has to offer. The location is amazing! We loved the charm the house had to offer - great for anyone who loves historic homes. and the extremely roomy kitchen became our primary hangout location. The fire pit and backyard provided a perfect spot to reflect on the days adventures. We would definitely rent again and recommend to friends and family! Thank you for an amazing stay!

Overall, the home was an absolute joy. There were a few minor things that I would change about the house. First, there are no king size beds, not even one. However that was listed on the reservation page, it’s just a personal preference. Also, the television in the Master bedroom in the basement would not connect to any channels. Also the Wi-Fi speed was terrible 9less than 1meg down) and the television upstairs kept buffering and was essentially unwatchable, even after manually restarting the router and cable modem. Overall I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars, because it’s really a great place and great location.

Beautiful house
We enjoyed a week of ice climbing in Ouray, and used this house as a base of operation. It's a beautiful house with some 19th century character. Only complaint was we arrived after a significant snowfall, and hand to shovel the sidewalks ourselves. We also brought firewood for the outdoor fire pit, but that seemed to be missing. None of this was a big deal to us, though. Hope we can stay here again, sometime.

Good location but overpriced
Arrived and really enjoyed the location and easy parking. It’s right on the Main Street between businesses. The kitchen was nice and we were able to cook several meals during our stay. Why I’m giving it a lower rating is the beds weren’t comfortable at all, the ceilings are really low, one of the bedrooms is missing a door to the bathroom, and portions of the house are not level. I’ve never walked up such uneven stairs in my life. All things considered it works but should cost less for what you are getting.
