The location is this hotel is super. But have to say my trip was pretty much ruined when I was locked out of my room on the last night. I had met friends who were over from Australia. Been out for dinner and returned to the room. Left my phone wallet. Popped upto their room and when I came back down the door wouldn’t open. After waiting in reception for almost an hour the door simply was locked shut and couldn’t be opened. I was then put in some kind of staff/reserve room. A single bad and no window. No ability to tell what time it was. No belongings of any kind. I was told I would get a call at 7-8am the next morning. The anxiety this caused me was unreal, not knowing when I’d get back in my room. Not knowing if I’d make my train back to London. And frankly the hotel staff didn’t seem to really care. No real apologies. The next morning, 8.30 no call so I head down and I tell them I was locked out. I get a sharp “yes” and then I have to ask what’s going on. So blaze, I’m told they are waiting for someone to come out but it could be 9 or later but not really sure. So I head back upto the room where I sit and wait. At around 9.40 I get a call saying I can now get back in my room. On checkout I ask for a refund for that night. Since I didn’t stay in the room I paid for. She goes to ask the manager he agrees but it needs to go through Expedia. You guessed it still no refund. Hotel not relishing and I’m left with a bitter taste of a trip. Not good enough on both fronts.
