Worth the money
Nice area and, as we did not spend much time in our room, was comfortable stay. Close to food, shops and sightseeing. Would stay again!

Easy 10 minute walk from Gare l’Est. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good but plain black tea was not available 2 of the 4 mornings.

A fabulous, basic hotel
A basic hotel with all the necessities covered, plus an excellent location, helpful staff, and very clean. Not glam, but it's everything you could want from a 2-star hotel in Paris. Great proximity to Gare de L'Est and an easy walk or metro to the centre. The boulangerie over the road is absolutely superb too!

Good location
Hotel Garden Saint Martin is in a very good location to visit central Paris. It is surrounded by shops and eateries and the neighbourhood feels friendly and safe. The hotel in general was accessible even though other reviews have mentioned leaving the room.key when leaving the hotel, we did not find this a problem. Overall it was a good stay but a couple of areas of cleanliness would have made it better. The shower head and around the sink plug hole needed cleaning which would have increased the appeal for me. This would be an easy issue to rectify so not a big problem.Also, not being used to hard beds was an issue for me as the mattresses were quite firm although my companion slept find on theirs.

Just for a short stay
They were very strict in terms of check-in hours. We have waited until 14:00 exact time to check-in. The room was small but that's all you need for two days but the bathroom door is just a sliding wood panel and there is almost no privacy. The location is superb, next to the best bakery in Paris and a 1-minute walk from the tube station. On the other hand, the noise of the street and the restaurants are unbelievable. It was very loud until 3:00 am.

The rooms are small but that was expected, hotel is very clean, staff is very polite and helpful. We were on the third floor in the middle room, nice view of the streets, as others reviewed it is loud every night from the surrounding restaurants, but we just shut the windows and turned on the fan. As we were there in sept it cools off nicely at night. Within walking distance to trains to get into Paris or to the airport. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, free tea and coffee when needed, perfectly situated to explore Paris with bith metro and bus stops just around the corner from the hotel. Hotel in a lovely bohemian area mixed with restaurants, food shops and boutiques.

Hotel is clean but dated.
Hotel is great for being near the tube station of Jacques-Bonsergent. There are shops, supermarket, cafes, bakery and barbers in the area. The hotel is clean and just like other reviews on other sites, it is a bit dated but I found it very clean and room was cleaned every day of my stay. The only criticisms are the internet is very in and out and our room was far too warm being in the courtyard so no air could get through. The hotel did provide a fan though. Cannot comment on breakfast as I didn't have that. Overall the hotel is clean but needs sprucing up.

This hotel gets mixed reviews but we found it excellent. Much nicer than many three star ones. The room was perfect size for two people with two separate beds

The staff at the hotel was excellent. Very polite and helpful. They let us have coffee from their machine before the allowed time. The place was very clean and comfortable.

The location was perfect for our trip. The fourth floor views and open balcony were lovely. The things that were a challenge are things that are difficult to change as in the size of the elevator and the unevenness of the stairs.
