The location is great, the front desk staff was great, they let me check in early. Upon arriving, the toilet was a slow drain, by day 2 it was overflowing. The phone was not working so I had to go to the front desk. She said she would send maintenance up. I know they had empty rooms so I asked to switch as half the floor in my room was now covered in toilet water. She said maintenance would determine if I could switch rooms. Maintenance fixed the problem but the water was not completely cleaned up off the floor in the room. I called down there on their main line from my cell phone. At this time the toilet was on a continual flush mode, so it was constantly flushing. She said she would send them back up. I waited for 30 minutes then went to the beach. She told me I could take the towels from the bathroom and clean it up until they got there. I reminded her I was a guest and not housekeeping. I came back 4 hours later and nothing had been done. They did give me a new room. They would not upgrade me because management had to approve, and management wouldn't be at the location for 2 more days! This would not be my first choice when I come back. I visit the beach at Destin about 4 times a year and this has been my worst experience of the times I have been there.
