Hotel was in a good location. We walked close to 20,000 steps a day . Homeless people on the sidewalk some trash . It's typical of a big city . We had a great time always felt safe

Sonder changed my hotel location after I arrived at to the hotel and had paid for parking. They only sent an email that went to junk and did not call to notify me. Apparently it was a maintenance emergency, but I should have been notified earlier and by phone. Long wait time on hold for customer service. Once we finally were able to talk to someone and get to the new hotel the room was nice, but I was already irritated by the whole situation. Unprofessional.

It is a good property in the center of the Gayborhood with great options for dining, breakfast / coffee and business. I did not like the homeless people especially when some of them were demanding stuff. There is a lot of police around though. Otherwise good experience with hard wood floor and great bedding and mattress. There is not a lot of space in the room but there is common area for sitting and possibly meetings

Summary: AVOID unless you like being ripped off. Fully paid on expedia months beforehand, this crooked dodgy company has illegally overcharged ON additional 3 separate occasions!! Nightmare to get refund verging on 4 weeks of back and forth. Full details: booking fully paid months beforehand. Youre then pestered to “register” with sonder and provide another payment card. After this registration my payment card was mysteriously charged the same amount as accommodation costs. I query and complain only to be dismissed “we dont see any issues with your booking” - finally after 3 weeks when i start asking my credit company to reverse the charges suddenly they “care” and investigate. What a shock - ive been double charged. They finally refund this. Two days later Ive been charged AGAIN. And then another day after ANOTHER charge thats currently pending. As i write this review im still trying to get my money back for these further duplicative illegal scam charges. This crooked criminal company counts and relies on people not noticing all these charges amongst all their other costs and seeks to double and tripled charge and scam and rip ypu off and hope you dont notice. And then when you notice the scam first they tell you theres no issue and drag their feet. AVOID THIS CROOKED CORRUPT SCAM HOTEL AT ALL COSTS This company

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I reserved voluntarily in Expedia, then the hotel required several pictures of self and ID so facial recognition software could verify. I did not trust that process and tried to cancel, but the hotel offers no refunds. When a company refuses refunds BEFORE you use their service, that is a sign of no confidence in their own offerings. An email said that the hotel is all electronic and I would receive keypad access codes three days before the reservation. A later email changed that to one day. I received nothing and customer service was a chatbot. I requested a human who said stop worrying and the codes would be sent sometime before the beginning of the reservation. That person was powerless and only vowed to forward my concerns to management. At the front door, a guy before me was having trouble entering his code on the keypad, due to inconsistent instructions on whether to use the pound key. We figured it out together. In my room, all three venetian blinds and the closet door were broken. Upon leaving my room, the electronic door did not lock behind me. The chatbot said to push a button on the keypad that did not exist. The Sonder app said the door would lock automatically. That did not happen within two minutes, but I had to go and hoped for the best. I returned 4 hours later and found that the door to my room was still unlocked. Nobody stole my stuff, which is the only good thing I can say about this travesty of an operation.

Rooms are fine, but recently big software issues

Have stayed here many times and the place is good, but recently they’ve done a tie-up with Marriott that has totally screwed up their app and website. Impossible to find your booking, and since this is a place where there is no front desk and everything is done online, getting my code to enter the building and apartment was a pain. Will stop staying here for a few months till software issues are fixed.

Poor communication, frustrating check-in

The check in process ended up being a mess. I received an email the day of my arrival that there was an issue at the original property and that we were being moved. There was a different confirmation code, but when I tried to use it in the Sonder app, it said there was no reservation linked with that code. I still had not received my access code, so I called to speak with someone. The representative was friendly and professional, but they added to the confusion by telling me that we actually were staying at the original property and that I needed to complete an authorization form for incidentals. After several hours I still had not received an access code, so I followed up through the chat option in the Sonder app. I was given a third, different confirmation code and finally received my access code. The whole experience was frustrating because it preoccupied way too much time on my first day of the trip. The communication was poor and I was disappointed by the experience. On a positive note, I did appreciate the fact that they were able to move us to a hotel that was very close to the original property. The room was fine, not quite as clean as I would expect from a Marriott property. The location was great, very close to a subway station and surrounded by dining options. Overall my main issue was the poor experience and confusion around how to receive my access code and the amount of time it took to resolve everything after a long day of travel.

Nice room in a not so nice place

Roma are nice and comfortable. Especially the bed. However, the location is in a very noisy, dirty location (4 to 5 trash cans at the entry and next to the Patco subway entry: an open air latrine). The elevator was broken all my stay and we had to enter from the emergency door that was stack most of the time. The room was noisy because of the noise from people drunk on the street and the HVAC.

Interior of the hotel is very clean and well-kept. Area could be quite loud at night until around 2-3 AM, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. No staff on site and responses via email were hit-and-miss. During a four night visit, the elevator broke and was down for the rest of the stay and I received an email warning that some units were having AC problems (mine was fine).

Unable to speak to a human after 5 attempts. Room was 87 degrees w/ temp turned down to 65, outside was 84; bad night's rest. On the bright side, Hannah a concierge? who I fortunately happened to run into, procured a missing remote for my TV & went through the entire programming process. She deserves 5 Stars!
Coldest temp in room! Totally unacceptable, particularly after having eye surgery at Wills Eye Hospital.

The AC was broken. Notified Staff thermostat read between 80-86 degrees all night. Was promised Fan delivery at 10pm never got it. Couldn’t sleep due to extreme heat. Want full refund. Was told they were coming to service AC today AFTER I checked out.
