The price was good. The room was $23 plus another $5 per person for breakfast. Breakfast was boring. Light bulbs in the rooms were burned out and not replaced on request. They don't seem to receive reservations made online so if you do that, bring proof. They do honor that. Taxi drivers don't know where the hotel is so take the address with you. The neighborhood is full of greasy used truck parts stores. It isn't pleasant.
No pool, no gym as pictured, the very reason I hose this hotel. Under long term repair. Place uninhabitable - mouldy and musky. Room door cannot be locked despite 'repairs'. Checked out within half an hour. Demanded a refund from Midland but was told to get it from the Booking agency who in this case is Expedia. Have not received refund from Expedia yet.
The Hotel is not as advertised, the breakfast is horrible, lots of flies around the food. Very few staff knows English and that too a little bit. The rooms are spacious but not clean, human hairs everywhere on the bed, toilet, chairs, etc. When I complained initially the staff claimed it was cleaned before our check-in, but after I raised my voice they agreed to clean and eventually cleaned it. But this is cheaper accommodation in terms of Money.
The stay was a disaster. There were no facilities as listed on Hotels.com and the hotel was basically a building site. The was also no edible breakfast and so we have had to cancell and leave after one night. The hotel management has told us to contact hotels.com for a full refund.
Made reservation with single bed but not available. changed room to two twin bedroom. Sheet cover has stains. receptionist has not been trained and lack of customer services.
Rundown and lacking in customer service, not what it used to be

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We have stayed here in the past and were pleased but now the hotel is rundown and the service is poor
We werent anke ti get hand towels even after asking frequently.
A good option for an affordable hotel with a pool and gym. Staff were friendly and helpful. The gym was well equipped and though I never actually swam in the pool it did look inviting. The restaurant had good food. There are western style restaurants and shops in the nearby mall (Starbucks etc.)if that’s your thing .

The location was 2 blocks short walk from TK Avenue outdoor mall, so that was very convenient.
Unfortunately the hotel was not great, the pool and gym were a bonus feature but the housekeeping is not well done and there was often hair on my room floor. The room smelled like smoke even though it was non-smoking. The breakfast was ok, the days where it was buffet the food was cold but the days they had me order from the menu were better. The coffee bar in the lobby has pretty good drinks so it was nice to have it nearby.

Too far out
This hotel is too far from anything..its really in a working area of pp..has a lot of business people staying for 1 or 2 nights and lots of chinese tour groups...the rooms are cleaned well and soft beds but the pillows were like bricks.tv was small but channels were ok.shower had lots of hot water and very good..my room looked out at the bottom of a roof so no light really.every day you must getbthe room key activated.bit of a drag being locked out.there was no water hise for the toilet in my room but could not be annoyed explaining this to reception.
The pool is good..but gets very busy at the weekends and night times..you can come here and pay $5 to use it and the steam and gym rooms..the gym is probably its biggest attraction but beware..no aircon and only 2 small fans work and thats if you putbthem on yourself...there is a couple of girls at the pool who give out towels and 2 guys at the gym who i didnt actually see do anything..the reception are very nice and english is spoken..even the doorboy has a good knowledge of english..
To be honest i sort of liked it but realistically its not for tourists and being cheap costs you on tuks..nothing around this hotel and did not look safe to walk at night..
Breakfast is limited..not very good..asian food was the norm i would say..
If this was closer to the centre i would give it the thumbs up...
The air condition broke down at 10 pm no maintenance engineer to check. Gave a replacement room without remote for air con. The breakfast was horrible.

Liked: Staff & service
Hotel in good location. Staff very friendly, room a bit old need renovation.
The hotel is value for money. It is reasonably clean and neat except for it dated furniture and bathroom.
The staff speaks little english but managed to communicate with them by rephrasing and stressing so key words.
There is no manager on site to handle more challenging issues. My booking was not found and they have to call the owner to handle it.
The breakfast was not good. Need to pay USD $5 if breakfast is not part of the package. Though it is a buffet breakfast, it has little spread. Hot chocolate drink is available with the buffet but need to pay for it separately.
There are a few seafood restaurant 3 minutes walk away and a very "singaporean" area with Geylang Lor 9 restaurant and Breadtalk 5 minutes away.
