No air conditioner
We arrived and while looking for the lockbox for the key to open the door, we were attacked by bees. All total my wife was stung once and myself 6 times. I texted the owner to let him know about the situation. His response felt like he was a little skeptical of what I was telling him, and just said try getting some water or spray. Now, I understand the owner has no control over the bees, but his attitude seemed very condescending. A short while later, he texted back saying one of the neighbors was able to get the key and I could pick it up from him.
Once inside, I was initially impressed with the condo and its furnishings in the TV room and kitchen. I adjusted the A/C thermostat to begin cooling things off. Once we went inside the the bathrooms, it was apparent that the property had not been cleaned recently because of the water stains in the toilet. Most of the flat surfaces were dusty as well. While unpacking, we realized the bed mattresses were very low quality in both bedrooms.
It was during the night when I woke up due to the heat in the property. I knew something was wrong with the A/C because the temp was back up to 78 with thermostat set to 72. I turned the unit off and left it off for a few minutes before turning it back on, and this seemed to correct the issue. I went back to bed but woke up again later and realized it was not working properly. The next day we were out of the condo for most of the day. When we returned I texted the owner to let him know about the issue with the A/C. His response was to do exactly like I had done during the night. That trick would work for about 45 mins or less then the A/C would go back to not cooling. I texted the owner again that night before going to bed and never received a response until the next morning. Owner replied he would have someone there that day to check the A/C. No one ever came that day. Owner texted saying someone would be there next day. When the repairman did arrive he replaced thermostat and said that would fix it. The AC was blowing cold when he left, one hour later back to same issue. The repairman came again the next day, did not do anything different other than the off/on trick and left saying call if that did not work. That was the last we saw or heard from repairman and the last text I received from the owner was that night asking if AC was fixed. I responded no. All the next day the condo was without AC, temp reaching 86. It was so bad we checked into a hotel.
