Well, where do I begin to rave about this little gem, located in the heart of downtown Phoenix's historic "Auto Repair District."
No, I'm not gonna knock the location, saying something is "in a bad area" is just code for racists to use with each other. The location was fine, just a few blocks from the light rail and an amazing brewery across the street.
What I will knock is the hotel itself. Nevermind that it was 118 degrees outside, the owners did not feel the need to use AC in the lobby or the halls. The room itself smelled like a hamster cage, and was disgusting. I'm no stranger to staying at "literally the cheapest hotel on Expedia" and I get what that generally comes with, but this place was even worse than what I expected. The desk staff were so rude, to the point that it seemed like they were going out of their way to show how much of a nuisance it was to have guests staying there. How dare I ask you for a bottle of water at 2 in the afternoon? And they also were not wearing masks at any point in my stay, even walking around the property. At least housekeeping had good attitudes. There were a total of four available electrical outlets in the entire room, none of which were near the bed, which in 2020 is of course a major hassle.
I mean, you get what you pay for, but I would have gladly spent an extra $5 per night to stay at "the next cheapest place on Expedia" had I known how awful this property was.
