great place only issue I had was they put me in the main building, which could get noisy at times..... And they had these Macaws in the lobby that started to squak, around 8 am so sleeping in wasn't an option. so if you go here see if you can get rooms not in main building

Great property, check in was crummy. Made 0 accommodations for king size bed on my anniversary, 2 doubles for a full week. Asked if we could switch rooms the next day two. No follow up at all. Buffet food was not usually hot, only ok. Ate a lot of hamburgers…

Overall we were happy with our stay. We had issues with our room. The night we checked in we didn’t have hot water to shower. We tried to call front desk, and no one answered. We had to ask multiple times the next day to get it checked. About two nights before we checked out, the ac unit started leaking.

We loved every minute of it! The grounds are beautiful and there’s so much to see and do, you truly don’t have to leave the resort. Donny & Memo were a joy to work with and treated us like family. We always had fast and friendly service everywhere we went. My only complaint is that room service is very slow, easily an hour wait or more. . Other than that, we loved it and are already planning our next trip.

Hotel is excellent location and the access to the park is great and for this it gets 9 out of 10, as for the hotel in cleanliness I will give it a score of 3 out of 10, the beds and towels were clean but as for the room and building it could use some help. Room smell moldy and walls were in dire need of cleaning and paint. Building needed some pressure washing and at one point a piece of roof by the river fell off. The staff gets a 7, very friendly and serviceable however most of them continuously try to direct the conversation to selling you on a timeshare or member program. Also at times they were limited by what they are able to do even as a simple request like in my case was my daughter limited pallet choices. The food gets a 6 was good however again it felt limited and repetitive compare to other all inclusive hotels we have stayed in the past. Night time entertainment was good i give it an 8 and the spa is also an 8. Giving Xcaret Occidental a 6.8 total, did I enjoy the stay? Yes and my daughters had a lot of fun, would I comeback? No, as I know other hotels in the area offer better amenities and don’t try to sell you on something you don’t want every day.

Beautiful property! Loved the scenery and the wildlife. The entertainment at the theatre was good and we loved the singer in the lobby. The food was alright, but being a picky eater I had a tough time. The rooms are okay but did notice mold in certain places because the humidity in the rooms is crazy! No side mirror, just holes. Service was alright. Didnt get things when asked for then had to find maid for things like toilet paper and water. The whole timeshare thing is utterly annoying! Different staff members being so kind then going into their sales pitch. It got really tiring dealing with them. Then when you say no, their demeanor changes and some are no longer friendly. Certain staff members were amazing though, such as Noah and Israel. Also, waiters Julio at the snackbar and Arturro at the main buffet were the best!

The property is beautiful and a unique experience with all of the animals, walking trails, and mayan ruins right on the grounda. The beach area is also amazing.

Our family loves the property for the beauty of the jungle and animals, lobby, pools, beach. We noticed the food selection in the buffet is significantly smaller but we still love the occidental at Xcaret

This would have been the vacation of a lifetime if the food choices were not so terrible. The grounds are beautiful, the resort rooms are gorgeous, but the food is terrible. It was a constant theme with any of the other visitors we chatted with.
