Food was good. Resort was not clean, there was an invasion of bees at the swim up bar I even got stung by one. The resort had a bad smell in some of the areas. It needed a major paint job. The bath in my room was rusty, there was a leak from the balcony door, and there was a mold odor. Entertainment could have been a lot better especially since there was an hurricane.

Gorgeous beach at a good property
The property is nice. The beach is fantastic! The food is a 7-8 - they could def do better in the area... but I don't think that's the fault of staff - I think the Riu just really doesn't prioritize this area. On a different note, the entertainment was really fun & absolutely terrific, especially the evening shows (one put in the courtyard, followed by one inside the stage/theater area). The "resort credits" were basically non-existent (when I asked about them, I was told I could have a coupon for $15 off a massage service - totally useless!). Service was great - it really felt like the staff genuinely cared about the guests/guest- experience!

The RIU Palace is a great place to go for an all inclusive vacation. Normally what we have experienced is excellent service going over the top! This time not so much. We are uncertain why this has changed. This is what separates out the “Palace” from the other RIU resorts. All in all a good trip but want that great service we usually get.

I LIKE THEIR BUFFET OPTIONS, ITS DIFFERENT CHOICES EVERY DAY. WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE IS THE BUILDING, WALLS NEED TO BE REDONE AND THE STYLE OF TOILET ON EACH ROOM.
