The area has some nice spots around the hotel. There is quite a few homeless people. They didn’t bother us and the locals didn’t seem to be bothered by them. Across the street is a helping center for the less unfortunate and homeless.

The hotel is nicely updated, but the noise from the street is terrible. It seemed liked the windows were open because the noise was so bad all night long. We did not sleep. Found ear plugs in the vanity jar the next morning.

Little Bitter Bar was amazing. The room and hallway had a musty smell, like you normally have with a an older building (not a bad thing, just something to be aware of if that smell may affect allergies. Valet was open between 7am and 11pm, which caused us to modify plans slightly. Again, not bad, just something to be aware of if heading out early.

The hotel is nice, but the rooms have very thin doors, which means you hear every single thing in the hallway. Grabbed my complementary coffee and went for a walk, but only got a block before turning back because I didn’t feel very safe. The street right out front is definitely alive with unhoused folks.
