It was a super small room. Very old building, which has it's charm. There were 2 staff members that were very pleasant, girll with curly curly hair at front desk and the grey haired gentleman that checked me in and carried my bag for me. The rest of the staff were standoffish. One improvement would be a simple bottle of water upon check in. (One thing is the ceiling tile in bathroom had a pretty good size missing corner, I felt watched)

This was our first stay at the Hillcrest Inn and I would definitely stay here again . Overall, this is a decent place to stay right on the beach! Nice balconies with view of the ocean and boardwalk. Outdoor pool was a plus for the kids. I am always nervous about the beds in these hotel rooms, but they were decent and sheets and blankets were clean and white. The only complaints I have was that the air conditioner only worked for 10 minutes at a time we couldn’t figure it out or it was broken. And the rooms do not have a microwave or coffee maker.

I booked an side ocean view room its very small...was not very clean. There was a sign to put towels and garbage by door and they would leave clean towel they didnt..we had to get clean towels on our own. Above the a.c i dont think has been cleaned at all... for the money we paid it wasnt worth it...

Great location and the 2 bedroom was ideal for what we were looking for. But the room was filthy. Old ice cream still in the freezer. Bedding was stained. Mirrors were smudged. Air conditioner dripped on the floor (carpet) on the porch and was moldy.

All rooms should have a long mirror behind the bathroom door. We had one on the top floor then we had to move and didn’t have one in that bathroom, that was a bummer!! Overall great stay.

The location of this hotel is right in the middle of boardwalk and was perfectly located. Our room did not have a balcony so we sat alot on the front porch which we enjoyed alot. The rooms are not entered by staff so there is no cleaning of the room while you stay so be sure to take your trash out as much as you can. You can request new towels during your stay and they do get those immediately for you. The pool is clean and enjoyable.

The Hillcrest Hotel is right in the middle of the Hampton beach strip. You get beautiful ocean views from the balcony even if you stay in a side room. The Beach playground is right across the road, super helpful if you have little ones. We loved our stay here, everyone at the hotel was very friendly and to our surprise the rooms were much nicer then in the photos. With the ocean being so close you might not care about a pool but they have one. we went in it once and got to see lots of birds and even a cute bunny. They have a convenient store underneath the hotel there is also togo cafe that opens the earliest on the strip next door so you dont have to go far to get your morning coffee/breakfast if your like us who woke up to see the sunrise. The town itself is a little crowded so you do have to park just a little ways down from the hotel we didnt drive anywhere until the last day so it wasnt an issue for us, they do have a loading and unloading zone thats closer. I would absolutely stay here again

The only decent thing about this hotel is the location. Everything else was horrendous. The rooms were old and disgusting. The patio was not cleaned at all. We found an ashtray full of cigarette butts and a dirty kleenex out there. There were no plastic bags in the trash or the ice bins. The walls, decor, ceiling, and furniture were dated and visibly damaged. The walls were thin and the door to our room was essentially a closet door. The two preteens in my group were visibly uncomfortable and did not feel safe. It would be one thing if this place was a bargain but $280/night absolutely not worth it. WILL NOT GO BACK.

The view and the location are awesome! The place can use an update for the price I paid no room service the place is dated! The cleaning was not up to par there would peanuts left on the side of the bed from who knows how long! I would stay here again just for location. Never expect too much from a beach motel and bring your own pillows there’s suck!
