I travel a lot. Every week and day is a different hotel. I look for a hotel that has a fair price, TV, fridge, microwave, comfortable bed, work space, good wifi and is close to gas, food, and drink. If the hotel is clean and the ice machine works, it gets at least 4 stars from me. This hotel meets all my requirements as I work away from home.

The hotel was housing neighbors who had lost their electricity due to the hurricane. Yet the staff worked hard and diligently to make sure all guests had what they needed. Beds were comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean except for the tub. We just waited till we got home to shower. The hotel could have been cleaner. But it’s older and I know guests are hard on a property. I think they did very well with all they were handling, allowing folks to come in and shower and keeping all guests taken care of.

Bed was fine. Room cleanliness was okay. Bathroom needed maintenance. Water handle had fallen off (needed to press it against valve stem to turn on), shower curtain rod was loose and hung down (as it was curved, the curtain would slide by weight to center and leave gaps at ends), tile was replaced and mismatched for tough finish, and there was a bug in the tub as we entered.

The staff were very friendly, the room was dingy , the ac had been set to 60 so if felt like a freezer and had to find blankets. The AC unit smelled very moldy and i couldnt stop coughing between the mold and the freezing temperature. All in all it was a bad night.

It was dirty and smelled. We checked in then left to a Sleep Inn. I tried to cancel because it was before 4:00 pm. So I was still charged and I will be contacting Expedia for a refund or I will stop using Expedia
