This was our first visit to Reynkavik and I had no idea where to stay. I picked Hotel Von because it was close to the Sundholl pool. I’m so happy I did! Hotel Von was very conveniently located and allowed us to walk easily to all of our tours, both in the city and to bus stop 9. Our visit began with us arriving early in the morning, very tired from an overnight flight from the US. Thankfully, we were able to check into our room right away, allowing us to take a much needed nap, and we even got an upgraded room. The room was perfect for our needs. The entire staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The options for breakfast were just right and we took advantage of it every morning. My only disappointment was that while there was coffee and tea in the room, there was no creamer or sugar. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our stay and will be sure to book with you again if/when we return.

We were only here for one day before flying out. It's located in the heart of the city, and close to the big church, harbour and a multitude of shops and restaurants. The downside to the location, is that parking is not included. Street parking right outside the hotel is a P1 zone, so only valid for 3h in a 24hour period. We just parked around the corner. The walls are a little thin OR the doors are heavy, we could hear them slamming shut when other people were entering/leaving their rooms. Overall, we felt comfortable and the rooms were clean and we enjoyed our time there before we flew out.

It’s on the main drag, and is clean and warm. This does not make it convenient from the flybus drop-off stop - if you have bags it’s better to take a cab from the main station. The staff are lovely. The rooms are New York small, and for some reason, if they can’t fit a coffee machine in there, you don’t get coffee. A kettle and tea bags - but no nescafe. If you are checking out in the morning with an evening flight, they are happy to look after your bags while you go out.

Great stay & centrally located
We had a great stay. Although it was only stayed one night we would have stayed for much longer if we we weren't flying out the next day. I appreciated the added security at night, it's a safe touristy area but that also means some nightlife in the vicinity, which we took full advantage of ourselves! The main door locks at night and you use your hotel key to get in, the desk is also staffed around the clock should you need assistance. The sound insulation is really good too, we didn't hear anything once we got in our room. The room itself was clean and comfortable. We didn't use the hotel restaurant, again it was our last night in Iceland, but we would have if we had a longer stay. The place seemed to have a nice ambience. Only minor thing is that pillows were on the thin side; I used my travel pillow to prop it up. Conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and a supermarket right next door. Staff was VERY nice and courteous and they stored our bags after check-out so we can go have breakfast and do some last minute shopping. Plenty of street parking and parking lots within walking distance.

Parking was a little hard to find and understand. Hotel Von is in a very busy area so during daytime, parking can be hard to find and managing the go arounds of the streets with people walking everywhere. The staff was amazing at helping us understand and know the parking hours well. We are so grateful for that.
