I traveled to Virginia from Pennsylvania and was very disappointed with my stay at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Midlothian Va. I will never return again! As soon as we stepped into the elevator we knew that our experience was not going to be good. The carpet was dirty and the elevator smelled! The facility itself is old, dated and had not been renovated in years. The website pictures are deceiving! As soon as we walked into the room that “stale old water in the carpet smell” hit us immediately.The curtains were yellowing, dingy and had not been washed in years. The bed skirt was dirty & drooping. I noticed a thumb print smudge on the wall like possibly blood (?) The bathroom was so dim you could not see. The room carpet was vacuumed but dirty; my socks were gray by nightfall. They had a mini fridge but no microwave; and the one in the lobby was so old and outdated like they got it from a “Good Will”. And the worst part is that they charge you $8 a night for parking in the parking lot!! Where else were we going to park? When we objected they waved the fee. They charged me top dollar thru Travelocity! And It was not worth it! I chose the Hyatt because the name is suppose to be equated with a “superior quantity stay.” I chose this hotel over the Sheraton, the Hilton and the Hampton Inn which were in the area and gave a better rate. I probably could have gotten a better experience at the “Extended Stay” next door! Clean up your act Hyatt Place! Never again!

This is a great property to stay with family. And they serve a full self service breakfast - included with your stay. The pool was my kids favorite part!

My wedding party organizer as me to book here. Just a few things I found positive and disturbing 1. AMERICAN FLAG on front pole was Very faded, tattered and ripped. Spot light From the lawn at bottom of pole not Operational. 2. Rugs throughout the areas I visited for 3 Days were very dirty and left over old Spilled liquid spots in 2 of the elevators. Room and hallway rugs were very dirty And in need of vacuum. Never heard a Vacuum run the days I was there ( 3 ) 3. After checking in the desk clerk ask if I Would be parking there and my reply was Yes! Clerk then quoted there was a $9 a Day charge to park. This one really flipped Me out. All the travels in the US I had Never experienced this. 4. $2 bottle water and $3 small candy bars? Told these prices were based on Convenience 5. Leaves all over parking lot from fall time Tree changes. Never was blown 3 days 6. Very low lighting in parking lot and not easy To find after dark and not a safe feel

Property is not well kept. Bathroom is way to small. It was hard to go in and come out. Carpets were dirty and smelly. Didn't expect this in a Hyatt hotel. Staff were friendly. Not sure why they cagrge for parking! It is not a downtown hotel.

The property was safe and the room and environment was quiet. Desk staff were friendly and helpful. Areas for improvement include the following: 1. Breakfast- done on the cheap- powdered, artificial eggs, no fruit and the bare minimum above a continentental breakfast. No real dining area which resulted in people eating in the lobby as there were few tables. Overall breakfast was a big let down. 2. No washers/dryers for guests- big inconvenience. Washers and dryers should be available on each floor. 3. Beds were not comfortable. Beds sunk in the middle. 4. Pay for parking? Why? This location is not in the middle of a big city.
