Truly the Mt. St Michel experience. Exceptional access to the great history and historical site. The best part is being able to stay on site and enjoy the tranquility and transition from large crowds during the day to peace and harmony at night! The restaurant is perfect and truly enjoyable in the late evening after the throngs of tourists have marched off the island!
While I understand that this is in a very old building, so not to expect perfection at all but our rooms smelled so badly we had to sleep with the windows open every night. There was mould all over the window coverings. The kettle was dirty. There was what looked like blood splattered on the wall. Such a dirty and stained carpet. To say i was disappointed would be an understatement.

Historic location and fantastic views. Common are ageing and could use a refresh, but charming nevertheless.
Flexible baggage arrangements post-checkout to continue to roam through the walled city.
Note that accessibility could be an issue for given need to take numerous flights of stairs with luggage.
Check in was a bit confusing as it lists restaurant, not hotel. Missed breakfast the next morning due to limited hours (we went to abbey first). Wanted to try famous breakfast…disappointed.
Accommodations were fine, was nice to have refrigerator in room. Staff was helpful in shipping items left after stay.
Was very expensive…not sure cost was reflected by room, but not many options on island.
What an experience to stay on the island. It would have been helpful to let people know that it is a historic hotel in the village of Mont St. Michel. You need to park in P3 and take the shuttle to the island. Use a small light back. Ancient cobblestones and many many stairs. Absolutely stunning views.
Check in was quick. It wasn’t the most updated room and bathroom but all I really care about is that’s it’s clean, which it was. Breakfast ran out of bread 30 mins before closing and did not get replenished even after a few other guests asked for it. That was really the only disappointment. We skipped breakfast the next day. The stairs are steep, so if you can travel light. I’d stay again as long as I get up earlier for breakfast:)

Dissapointing
Disappointing for an hotel costing almost €400. Reception staff were polite & welcoming but staff in the restaurant were rude. Reception had made a reservation for us for dinner but the hostess in the restaurant told us to line up outside. It was very hot on the top floor which made sleeping a challenge. Breakfast was dissapointing - with cold runny scrambled eggs.

Fabulous location. Needcto park in no3 car park and walk 35 mins or bus into the mont.
Pay 25 euro on exit.
Book a table for dinner or youll be hunting to get food.
Outstanding location.
Stayed in the suite and it was exactly like the photos. Modern and clean room in a historic hotel with a beautiful view. Breakfast was great. Our only regret was that we stayed for just one night.
By far the best way to explore Mont Saint Michel is to stay overnight and have the early morning to explore without the daytime crowds. Hotel is situated right near the entrance, although we missed it the first time. Great location and helpful staff!
The room was quite small and there were many stairs to navigate with luggage but it was great to stay on the island which gave far more time to explore in the morning and evenings.
Being an older building, we fell it needs better care. The carpet and the stairs were dirty, the room did not have air conditioning, not even a fan and it was hot. I believe, that it needs care and attention.
The worst hotel and service ever! Disgustingly dirty, and unsafe. Our balcony was about to fall apart and was accessible by a stone stair case. The staff were awful and made us follow other guest to our room which was confusing. They could not provide basics like water or ice. For $290 US big tourist rip off. Don’t bother staying on MSM, not worth it. Tourist trap from the word go. We left and did not even sleep in the room

Mont St Michel
It was fun to stay on Mont St Michel after the masses of people leave. The hotel at the base was conveniently located. Of course, the hotel is dated but the bedroom was clean. The bath towels were awful.
The restaurant of the hotel was a disappointment. We did not try the omelet but it was seemed to be very popular. The coquille at Jacques was tasty.
