Average Hanmpton and needs an update
Very basic Hampton Inn. The hotel was completely full the evening we were there and although we just needed a place to stay the lot was full so we had to get the person at reception to move their car so we had somewhere to park. The room was the last one, the lock was broken and it wasn’t the cleanest I’ve seen.

The room was fine but the carpets were dirty in the hall. The bathroom looked good but the carpets in the room should be replaced by floating floors to be more hygienic. It looked like nobody had used the room for a while…

Room smelled like carpet cleaner…maybe a good thing if they were actually cleaned but not thinking so. Found a potato chip next to the bed. An M&M under the bathroom sink and a few hairs in the bathroom.

The staff was extremely polite, efficient and pleasant to deal with. The property seems a little older, but well maintained, and very clean. Breakfast was actually more abundant and well stocked than in some of the larger Hamptons I have stayed in.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly. The rest was awful. The property looked rundown and dirty. The room had a weird smell. The comforter smelled awful and we had to ask for a new one, then after getting new blankets they still smelled as well, just not as bad. I literally searched for another hotel for the night (the 8 hours we be there) and there was no vacancies in the area. Will never stay at a Hampton Inn again or in this area on our way to the Carolinas.

The property could use new carpeting as it is very worn down and musty smelling. The walls are dirty and could use a good paint job. There was someone else hair on my bed. The elevator is very small and there is a need to remove the ink drawings on the walls. Breakfast was ok but they did have free cookies, which was nice. The location in right next to a busy truck stop. There are places to eat nearby. The hotel was very quiet at night. It just needs a bit of a renovation.

Too much cleaning solution
The front desk staff was friendly. There was a shortage of cleaning staff so rooms were not ready at 3:00, but we understood the problem. The room was clean, however the odor from the cleaning supply that was used was sickening. Too bad the window could not be opened.

FIRE ALARM!!!
Fire alarm wake up at 7am. Entire second floor smelled of cigarette smoke. The bedding and pillows were embedded with smoke smell. Dirty towels were left in the bathroom obviously from previous guests. Do not stay here.

Disappointing front desk
Check in : Had to wait a good 5 minutes before Ron showed up, checked my ID and credit card after asking my name. Got to my room it was two double beds instead of a king that I had requested. I was tired and didn’t say anything. Went out to dinner came back and was locked out of my room. Ron had given me the wrong room under the wrong name. I told him that’s my room now and make my keys right. Lindsey at breakfast was the only one I met who was actually good at her job. Hence the two stars she earned one back.
