As some other reviews have mentioned, this hotel is not a five star property by any stretch of the imagination. I’ve stayed in several 5 star hotels and you would immediately notice the difference in attention to detail, politeness of the staff and would never make you repeat yourself about problems which are ruining your stay.
The staff was notified multiple times of our room having a bathroom door which would not stay shut. Nobody fixed it. We asked to change rooms but they only cared to upsell. The room was noisy with annoying sounds from the kitchen during breakfast hours. Not relaxing at all to sit on the balcony hearing dishes clanking.
Staff was only interested in us at check in and check out when it was time to collect payment.
Spa was very nice. Food at breakfast was never changed. No oatmeal!? How can you not offer oatmeal.
Overall they invested a lot into updating the rooms to better suit modern times but the staff remains less than pleasant.
3 star hotel at most with potential for 3.5 but not 5 stars like a Belmond, Four Seasons or MO clearly are.
Really was hoping for better from this beautiful location but we made the best of our 4 night stay.
