Very good

While the hotel is beautiful and I love the historic charm, the hotel room wasn’t the same. The hotel room had trash in it when we arrived and I believe there was mold in the room as my family had terrible headaches to the point they were on the verge of a migraine type pain. The heater also turned on making sleep almost impossible because it was so hot and the mattresses were rock hard (and I do love a firm mattress but this was so uncomfortable.
We didn’t get much rest at all for the two days we stayed. I was disappointed as it looked to be a great place to stay.
The A/C made noise all night which kept us up. It didn't make noise during the day. Also, the sofa had stains on it and so did some of the towels. The parking was pricey per night.

Incidentals charge at check-in was equal to the total charge for the room. I’m sure it says this somewhere in the fine print, but I was slightly shocked to pay $1200 in incidentals hold when the stay was $1200. Seems excessive. Parking is $30 per day for self park. Also excessive. Room was nice, but we were next to the water heater (or other plumbing) for the floor, so we could hear running water 24hrs a day. There’s a large homeless encampment next to the parking lot, which makes the $30 for parking even more ridiculous. For the price, we will try somewhere else next time.

Disliked: Amenities
Great location! As as a historic building you expect certain things like noisy, slow working HVAC systems and AC plugs that do not work; however the main problem is the understaffing at the property where no bell man is present, and room seevice is rearely available. After I raised my complaints to the GM they did improve and make room service available and comped it, so i also have to mention that the managment did do a huge effort to improve my overall experience.
We were celebrating our 15th anniversary and the hotel promised to send us chocolate covered strawberries! We were excited, unfortunately the strawberries never came. Multiple gentle reminders and requests didn't help. Finally we have up!
The hotel also sent a letter to put a sign outside if we did not want room cleaning. We wanted cleaning, but the hotel just didn't check and assumed we didn't want it. Multiple asks didn't help and finally someone came to straighten our sheets. I wish it was at least done properly.
Anyway, it was sad that spending at a fancy hotel like this lead to a sub optimal experience.
Not a great bang for the buck. Tiny beds. Check in didn’t give us any info, we had to come back and ask piece by piece. Be prepared to pay $30 parking and resort fee. On top of room rate. Breakfast is also extra. So again, for the price, not worth it.
Bad service due to a lack of staff… When housecleaning took away my towels without replacing them (!!!), it took the reception more than 90 minutes to get a set of towels to me.
My room was on ground floor facing the parking lot, and the curtains wouldn’t close all the way.
The TV in the room was prehistoric, and had no option to stream Netflix etc from our own smart devices!

Checkin was not smooth
Checking in took 40 mins due to a man and his son trying to get a better rate and changing their rooms three times. The clerk wasn’t sure what he was doing so he had to call the manager on his cell phone. He should have told them that he needed to check us in since we were waiting over 40 mins. We finally left to go eat and we were too late for the restaurant.
The location is great. The hotel is older and the rooms show it. They need to be remodeled. They don’t tell you until you check in, but parking in the hotel lit us $31.00 per night. I thought that was high. There is a parking garage and lot across the street that is much cheaper.
The fine print should include there is a cost to parking and it is $31/ day!!!!!!!!
We won’t stay there again.
It is convenient to the Plaza and all of the shops but so are many of them.
