The location of the hotel was perfect, with easy access to nearby attractions and restaurants. I was able to explore the area easily and enjoy all that it had to offer. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities I could need for a relaxing stay. But what truly set this hotel apart was the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable, from providing recommendations for things to do in the area to making sure that all of my needs were met.
Overall, a great experience, as someone would expect from any Mercure hotel.
The only downside was the kettle in the room. It wasn't working and they didn't fix it after I mentioned about the problem.
The best part here is the location. You're a stone throw from Japan House, Itaú Cultural, SESC (all culture-based places).
Paulista Avenue is the main road in the city, bringing together many shopping centres, cafés, department stores and the best connection via underground to most of the city centre.
I am sad to say that the Mercure Sao Paolo Grand Plaza Paulista is the worst hotel I have stayed in in decades. I booked a 4-star hotel but this hotel is no more than a 2-star hotel. The rooms are terrible.
The hotel was right by paulista ave. We walked to it and then up and down paulista ave many times. Lots of little shops and food especially on sunday.
The housekeeping staff was good. They were always cleaning and supplying towels.
The front desk staff was great- we needed to change our room to fit 3 people a few days after we got there. Instead of having to check out and wait till 2 to check back in the girl just switched are room right then. Saved us a lot of stress and she didnt have to do it.
The restraunt wasn't so good, maybe it was an off day
We are right off paulista ave. My husband and i walked up and down it several times. Very nicely located

The area is good! But overall, the hotel needs an urgent refurbish, the breakfast was bellow average (there was no butter first day), and the internet sucks! Never above 1Mb. If you need internet access, you´d better look for another hotel.

It's was a nice stay overall, but there were some things that feels like management is out of touch with the property. For example, some of the lights had wiring issues and broke. I was surprised to find there was not an iron/ironing board in the room? And then the biggest thing that stood out was not having a trash can inside the room. The only one was the small one in the bathroom for toilet paper, so it didn't have enough space for drink containers. I think if the general manager spent a night in the hotel it would provide some perspective of what could be improved. A big thing that would also greatly improve the quality are the mattresses. Outside of that though, most of the staff was helpful.

Nice location, reported that door lock reader did not work... stayed there 3 nights, went to get new keys 10 times..
internet very intermitent, when it worked was fine.. however had to call 3 times to have it reset...
Tired furniture in the room. No wifi in the room despite signal being present. Staff told me that they are aware of this but they did not do anything to fix the problem. So i could not work from room. They elaborated that they did not update the system so i could not use my iphone. Overall disappointing hotel.
WiFi provision totally inadequate and when complained there was somewhat disbelief but tinkered with the system. Eventually there was wifi but not good reception.
I liked the staff and the hotel itself, but the room condition was not something that I expected. In the picture, the room looks all renovated, but it wasn't...

The room was old fashioned, no coffee maker, the filters of the airconditioning were full with dust, took them out but nobody cleaned them for 4 days.
bathroom wasn't really clean, wifi was horrible.
