Never stepped foot inside due to nil contact available about late check in. Had to book elsewhere at my cost. Expedia no help and cant even reply. DO NOT USE if you want an out of hours check in. Tho crappy service probably means crappy hotel

Liked: Having someone at reception to answer after 5pm. This is important when you're travelling and need a place to sleep and it wasn't planned. This would make me return to the hotel again. I didn't like it: Smell and cigarette smoke all the time. The appearance of the bathroom. Old fridge, rubber door seal coming off all the time.

Good price for last minute stay, we stayed 3 nights. No housekeeping, bin ovwrflowed the next day no housekeeping Room dirty with chips in the top bunk. The bin itself when we emptied it looked disgusting. They didn't replace the milk or coffee and you have to line up and ask

Cheap. Shopping centre across the road. Staff at desk great. Rooms are v small. I was just wanting to sleep before i caught a flight. Water from shower goers all over toilet floor due not having a screen/curtain. The walls opposite the foot of the bed exhibited stains of god knows what. Im amazed at how many hotels just dont have n eye for a detailed sense of genuine cleanliness.

For cheap budget accomodation, Ibis Fawkner is perfectly fine. Stayed there a few times. Convenient train access to the city. Rooms are clean, although you may notice a loose tap or other minor maintenance issue. The 24 hour KMart nearby is great to have. The only negative is highway facing rooms can be a little noisy at night from hoons doing burnouts on Sunday mornings, but that's hardly Ibis' fault.
