Booked a hotel stay for my parents. Asked to have my card charged when they arrived at check in as this was a gift for them. Did payment authorization form & confirmed receipt of form with the hotel staff a few days prior.
When my parents arrived at the hotel & explained that their daughter had already setup payment they were told this could not be done & that they needed to pay. My parents ended up being charged for the hotel stay. The staff then said it was a mistake & my parents would be refunded the charge.
They charged my card the entire amount of $271.84 plus an additional $140. When I called to inquire about the additional $140 charge I was on hold 30 min straight, no check in no nothing. I ended up hanging up and calling back & asked the staff why would you leave someone on hold that long. Her response was she had to attend to customers in front of her. I told her I'm a paying customer too. I asked her what the additional charge was for and she said she did not know and to call back the next day.
Called the next day & was told the $140 was an automatic charge for pre registration?? I asked several times why would there be an automatic charge for this as it does not make sense. The manager said it was automatically charged because the card was on file and never gave me more information into why the charge occurred. He said i would be refunded within 3-5 business days. Worst customer service EVER. No communication between shifts or staff.
The property looks new, rooms are clean, plenty of parking (free), staff is courteous and accomodating.
Easy in/out access through I-95 but about 20 minutes from the riverfront/downtown/fun area.
Overall a good experience but the breakfast was disappointing. The sandwiches were not properly made, cold inside. I stayed for 2 days and the same thing happened. Rooms are clean, easy parking and the location has easy access to I-16.
I like the location and I like the hotel. I’m not sure how large it is, but it only had three carts to move belongings in and out. So in the morning, I had to wait till one was free. Wasn’t thrilled about the breakfast sandwich. It seemed dried out, but everything else looked great. The room is clean. The halls and carpet were clean. I did find the windows looked like they had some work done on them, which made it suddenly feel older than it was. No coffee in the room, which is OK as I don’tmind going down to get it. I was very happy with it.
Pros: Overall the hotel was good value, good property, good staff.
Cons: The hotel sits very close to a large garbage dump and the smell was very strong. However the inside of the hotel did not smell badly at all.
The bed was old and tired, both my wife and I had a difficult time sleeping on it and it was uncomfortable.
Terrible, hair was in the shower, cup/drinks stains on the night stand, stains on the comforter set, dirty and dusty behind the bed and dust all over the phone.. the hallway had a stinch smell throughout and scratch up walls in the room. This is the 2nd time we’ve experience this.. will not be back and do not recommend
Love this hotel. It is clean, no room odor or deodorizer smells. The beds are super comfy. Check-in was a bit slow. There was only one person in reception and 3 people waiting.
