Our stay at Walworth Castle Hotel was truly memorable, not just because of the stunning setting, but thanks to the incredible staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Adrian, part of the breakfast team at the 1189 Kitchen & Bar, was friendly, attentive, and made sure we started each morning with a smile. The service was excellent, and his warm demeanor really stood out.
A special thank you to Mary at reception, who took the time—despite it being a busy period—to personally show us the castle’s dungeon. It was such a thoughtful gesture and added an unexpected and fascinating highlight to our stay. Her enthusiasm and kindness made a big impression on us.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and welcoming getaway.
We stayed in a standard room which was very small ,mattress was substandard and the bathroom appears to have been housed in a cupboard the shower provided a poor level of pressure and it went from hot to nearly scalding myself.
Some of the staff were friendly and helpful breakfast was fair and hot and grounds were clean and tidy. Thus could be beautiful but not working the price
Lovely location and staff. Shower was a bit difficult to get working and pressure was poor, but it's an old castle.
Some extra charges for a cot, even though the room was booked as 2 adults with 1 toddler, not sure if hotels.com or the actual hotel's problem but something between them one way or another. Made the trip look cheaper than it was.
Perfect weekend. Proposed to my beautiful fiancée within Walworth castle & it couldn’t have went any better.. 3 course meal was 10/10
Library tower for tea was also 10/10
Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a romantic night/weekend with the other half
amazing experience, loved every minute of my stay, the castle was fantastic and the food was a true highlight and i will definitely be going back soon.
Amazing stay, lovely, friendly staff. Gorgeous building and lovely food. Would definitely recommend and go back too 🙂staff even showed us the dungeon, which we didn’t know they had. It really is a lovely place to stay 🙂

Friendly castle stay
Staff were lovely and friendly and room was large. Double bed was actually two singles which is always disappointing and bathroom was a bit tired but castle itself was lovely and very interesting.
Good location for me , halfway from norwich to Edinburgh. Lovely little castle with good food and great price i use to stay when working and now retired.
