Quiet get away
My family and I stayed for a long weekend for a wedding at the Trillium. The check in process was super easy, directions to the cabin were spot on. The cabin is surrounded by other cabins but Amberwood sits high up on a hill, it was very secluded. Neighbors were all very quiet. The home was clean, plenty of room for three of us. Beds slept comfortably and the hot tub was a nice relaxing retreat at the end of our long days of running around. Would definitely stay here again and recommend. Very close to all the family fun things in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Convenient Location
Wife and I traveled to area for a quick weekend getaway. Directions to cabin were easy to follow and check in was awesome. The cabin is as advertised except I would say it’s not as private as you might think, but it was fine. If you are traveling as a couple, a couple with small kids or maybe 2 close couples the cabin would be fine.

Amberwood
Too many dusty fake plants and too much furniture. Loft headboard was dusty as was much of the inside. Extra mattress has a visible gross looking stain. Candy wrapper left behind bedside table. Too many dishes leaving little space for dry food storage. Frying pan needs to be replaced. Loft bedroom did not have pillow case to cover pillow & sheets did not fit properly. This cabin needs a good cleaning and minimalization. Iron tank cracked. I have pictures if you need them. I don't think that we should have been charged a cleaning fee due to the condition of the inside. Not enough garbage bags for use and only one garbage bag outside which meant we had to leave things in frig.

Peaceful in the Mountains
We stayed here for a couple nights while attending a wedding at The Trillium. The cabin was perfect. It was clean, easy to access, and had every kitchen gadget you could ever need. There were only 3 of us, but there was plenty of room for more people. A quick drive to the wedding venue and also to Tennessee Shine Co., a couple wineries, and amazing food truck food. We hope to be back someday.

Don't let the few whiny reviews fool you.
Don't let the few whiny reviews fool you. The cabin, property and hot tub were all clean and the water DOESN'T smell like sulfur. We ran the jacuzzi tub 4 times in 2 days and not once did it stink up the cabin. It is well water thst is softened, so if your gonna complain about hard water in the hills of Tennessee then maybe a cabin isn't for you. Also, we had no problem getting up the driveway in a sedan with 5 people. We literally have nothing bad to say about our experience and quite frankly are astounded at how nitpicky some people can be.

A place away from the crowds
We enjoyed our 3 night stay at this cabin. This cabin is away from next door neighbors but has a steep climb up the driveway to where cabin is located. The grill area is somewhat small but cozy. The water inside is iron water (orange tint). After a shower, you'll smell like metal. Overall, we really enjoyed this place. Just remember, there is a 5gal jug of drinking water in the cabin. The beds slept very well, upstairs bedroom seems to be alittle warmer than the rest of the cabin, but with a fan provided, it is a great nights rest. Only cons I have- iron water This is a nice 4 miles from the Pigeon Forge area ,but there is 2 mountain coasters close by. This was a great place t ok relax and be away from the crowds in town. We had a great Social Distancing Vacation.

The water smelled very bad. The sofa is worn on one end with the fake leather peeling off. The screened porch was dark and dirty, spider webs. The drive way was very steep, we had trouble get up it, more so when it rained or the leaves fell. We lost power on Wed. morning just before 7 AM.

Great Cabin... Horrendously Scammy Customer Service
While this cabin is lovely, nicely decorated, and at a great location, our overall stay was greatly marred by our abysmal interactions with Bear Camp Rentals. We chose this cabin because free tickets were prominently featured, and we saw that we would receive enough tickets for each of the listed activities for each of our family members. I reviewed this carefully, looking for the catch, but didn't find one, so we booked the cabin. Afterwards, we received emails with instructions on how to book our free activities. It was only at this point (after booking) that we were informed we could only use one ticket for each activity per day. So, hypothetically, each family member could play mini golf, alone, for free, each day. Scammy, but oh well. At least we could rent some free movies. However, on our last night at the cabin, we tried to rent a movie for our tired toddler, and leaving her with my mother, took the twenty minute drive to the office. We used our free movie code and all seemed to go well, but the movies never came out of the machine. We spoke to the receptionist, who told us to wait while she called someone. After standing around for over half an hour, we were told, cheerfully, that someone would fix the machine the next day. We asked about our movies, and she simply looked confused and said it was a third party company and there was nothing they could do. At this point, we had been gone for an hour and still had a twenty minute drive back, when we were only supposed to be gone a few minutes. When I complained, the receptionist simply repeated "I'm sorry you feel that way," rather than addressing the actual problem. In addition to this super-scammy situation that left us with exactly none of the promised services, the service was slow to respond to requests to fix broken equipment, and threatening about added fees -- providing us with only one small trash can for six people for four days and saying that any trash that didn't fit would have to be taken to the office twenty minutes away or we'd be charged a fine. They also failed to provide pertinent information such as the fact that we should lock our cars, as the local bears were famous for having the ability to open doors and wreck car interiors. Overall, while the cabin was lovely, we were left with an extremely bad taste in our mouths and quite a bit of frustration for no good reason. Would strongly recommend that the owner of the cabin consider severing all ties with Bear Camp.

Nice office people but cabin is just too small, water stinks, no view at all.
The cabin was very clean and well stocked. We did not find the beds at all uncomfortable as others have said in the reviews. We actually found the furniture all very comfortable. The check in process was very, very easy. It was handled all via text and email. No issues at all. The rental office was very quick to get back to us with any questions we had during check in and throughout the week. The cabins location was convenient to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. The address was easily found by GPS and the road and driveway were not difficult to drive on at all. We drive a mini van and had no issues at all. Unfortunately there were things we did not enjoy and did not expect based on the description and photos of the property. It is very small! Yes, it sleeps 6 but I'm not sure how 6 adults would ever be comfortable in the cabin. There is one couch for sitting that seats 3 comfortably to watch TV or relax. The kitchen is so small it is hard to prepare any meals. The listing says the cabin has central heat and air. Only the downstairs has this. The upstairs loft bedroom has no vents. It was in the 90s our first day at the cabin and the upstairs was like an oven. The rental office did send over a box fan. The temp outside was much cooler for the rest of the week so it was bearable. I dont think it would have been if the temps stayed high. The downstairs stayed cool. The water comes from a well. It REALLY stinks. We could smell it on our hair after bathing. The jacuzzi in the master bedroom was the worst. The entire downstairs wreaked of rotten eggs if you ran the jacuzzi. Water was provided for drinking but the showers, tubs, hot tub, and washer all ran off well water. It was very strong. There is NO yard. None at all. The side and back are a hillside and the front is driveway. This made having kids there difficult. Also, there is no view. The cabin faces a hillside. If you want to see mountains, pick another place. I would recommend this cabin for no more than 4 adults who won't be spending a lot of time there. It's good for sleeping and heading out to adventures. Not a good place to spend time and relax. If you arent accustomed to well water or the rotten egg smell, you will have a very hard time staying here. All and all I would go 5 out of 10 on this rental. It's too small for what it claims, there is no yard or view, and the AC is an issue. However, the rental office was nice so maybe another one of their properties would work

Beautiful Area
We spent 8 days while attending a softball world series. It was me, my husband, our 2 daughters and 4 month old grandson. We greatly enjoyed our stay! Cabin is very comfortable. It is on the small side, but it worked well for us. We spent lots of time on the screened in back porch. The driveway is very steep but we did fine in a mini van. The only issue we had was the drinking water ran out and it took 3 days and 6 phone calls to the office before someone told my husband how to access the storage under the house to get a refill. Tap water has a smell, we are used to it as we live in a rural area without city water but others might not like it. It is a short drive to pretty much anywhere. Overall we had a great stay in a peaceful and beautiful area!

Cabin was lovely. Area was secluded enough that it felt private. Our hot tub wasn't working til the 3rd night of our stay. That was disappointing for the kids and the repair call took 2 full days before repair. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Okay Bargain Stay
All and all this cabin is an okay bargain if you need something close to Sevierville or Pigeon Forge. If you are looking for something 'in' Wears Valley, this cabin is about 15 minutes away. It is not actually in Wears Valley. We were in town for a funeral and would be spending most of our time in Wears Valley taking care of arrangements there and back down into Townsend and Maryville. Cabin availability was slim when we made the reservation on short notice, and this property looked like it would work. It did meet our needs. Other reviewers noted that the beds were not comfortable and the hot tub water was green and not sanitized. I can confirm that the beds were really not that confy. We slept in the downstairs bedroom on the double bed and it really sagged. We didn't attempt to sleep in the upstairs bed because it wasn't comfortable to just sit on. As for the hot tub, we were really looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub after dealing with stress all day. Pulled back the tub cover and was greatly disappointed with the green algae growing on the tub surface around the perimeter of the water. Other's noted this same problem. The check in process was not convenient, as it requires you to actually drive all the way to the office in Pigeon Forge to get the check in packet before you can get into the room. Other cabins that we have rented and paid for through VRBO have provided the check in and access information electronically. Anyway, just an inconvenience that we didn't expect and we did not have time to deal with at the time. The cabin is an okay bargain. It is clean and comfortable, except as noted. The fire place did work for us (others noted that it didn't work).
