The staff was accommodating and gave reminder call before 11 before just canceling reservation to be sure we were still coming. I appreciated that. BUT Expedia booked one bed instead of 2 & they would not help to fix the reservation. so in addition to the cost on expedia for the wrong room. I had to pay extra fees for another bed & room w/2 beds a cost for "upgrading" directly to hotel for a room w/2 beds. There was dead/alive bugs in room & hallway it needed to have a good vaccumming. Inside establishment was old & run down. NO Elevators. Not HANDICAP friendly at all TV did not work properly had to go to the front desk 2 to get them to come fix a visibably broken cord and fix a fuse/router. Beds where old, wore out & you could literally feel every spring in the bed. No screens on the windows so bugs/wasps flew in when I had the window open. The bathrooms are beyond small. No carpeting in room cold dirty floors and an adult can barely close the door to go to the restroom and have enough leg room to do so. NOT RECOMMENEDED!!! 1-2 STARS 🌟 out of 5 very displeased.

The room could be best described as spartan. Not much there except the essentials. It was clean. Hotel was next to the train track. The satellite tv blacked out all football channels.(a big disappoint for the sport fan in the family)

Basic basic basic. The rooms were ok, clean and basic. You get coffee in the lobby which was actually good. The place looks run down and it is, but the rooms are ok. We didn't spend any time there but shower and sleep so it was ok. Shelby is a sad place so there's not do there. For what we needed, which is a place to sleep between our hikes it was ok

The hotel is outdated, needs a reno. Not the cleanest but will do for a night stay. The crew were nice. It is near convenient store and gas station which is great especially when you need something. Btw, we asked for toiletries like toothbrush but they don’t have it. So, we have to walk to the convenience store to buy one. Overall, it was an okay stay for a night.

The room was clean with no smells which is not that common in this price range. We had most of what we needed. The biggest problem for us was that the window was not openable - locked with unlocking handle missing. Some rooms had the windows open. The staff neglected our request for upper floor and the lower floor gets a lot of sound from the people walking in the room above. Window at least in our room (118) was very dirty.

This hotel was pretty good. The staff was nice. It had a place behind the building to walk your dogs. The hotel itself is a little out of shape but in all. I would stay here again no problem. One thing to note. There is no breakfast. I know for me even a basic breakfast is always appreciated. But this isn’t my first hotel that doesn’t offer one so I am ok with it 😊
