What was uppermost from our stay was the friendliness and warmth of every single member of staff we met. The room itself was very clean and all our needs were met. The breakfast was well cooked, made to personal preference of selected ingredients eg way eggs cooked and of good proportion.
The property was also 10 mins at most walking distance from the town centre.
I have no critisism of my stay here.

The "Doddy" was very convenient for us to visit family. I would say that a No of the rooms were in need of redecoration or refurbishment but this did not detract from our comfortable stay with very accommodating staff. Unfortunately due to a 50th Birthday we were unable to eat at the Hotel, but again this was not an issue as there are restaurants and pubs local who provided meals. We are looking forward to our return in early 2022.
Enjoyed our stay, very dated building but maintained very well. Very clean and very comfortable beds. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Overpriced hotel!
The people breakfast and parking were good but....
I was there 3 nights and my room was not serviced once.
The shower was electric and extremely weak and over a high sided bath which made access difficult.
The room heating was poor and my room was on the second floor. There is no lift and the stairs are not easy.
Quite expensive for a shabby and tired hotel.
I would not stay there again.
Reasonable rate. Handy for town/free parking of car. Big comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Bar available. Ok a bit creaky and needs update, but could be listed building.
Only spoiled by someone clumping around above my room 10 o clock at night, carried on for ages. Can't blame the hotel for that, but I did nearly complain.
The shower had no power at all, had to use a cup under the bath taps to rinse my hair properly. The water was either roasting hot or freezing cold. No power either to the hairdryer. Plumbing needs updating. Felt completely ripped off at £100 a night. Could have stayed in the heart of London in a modern hotel for less.
The room was in need of an update, the bathroom had mould on the wall that they had clearly tried to clean off, the shower head holder was snapped and the shower had no power at all. The bed was old and creaked every time you moved. Not worth £90 a night.
Had a really nice time, unfortunately one of our party took ill and was taken to hospital so put a bit of a damper on things.
I have to say ALL the staff were very friendly, helpful couldn’t do enough for everyone. My only downside is the lack of disability facilities, remember disabilities are not always visible, my husband has a colostomy bag and had problems changing it obviously in a normal toilet there aren’t any shelves to put all of the things he needed to change a bag
and there isn’t anywhere to dispose of them only one tiny bin in the sink area,They should really have one of those bins you lift so far up and the waste goes inside out of view. Unfortunately we have found lots of places seem to have the same problem. We did mention it to a member of staff and she actually said it was something she hadn’t thought of so maybe she will tell the management.
Other than that the place was spotless, staff brilliant as was the breakfasts.

Decent budget accommodation
Perfectly decent accommodation . It’s spotless clean but a little tired in terms of decor etc . A decent budget place to stay and handy as a base for exploring the surrounding area.
Hotel it's self is dated. Rooms were lovely and clean. Terrible electrics / wiring, and plumbing in top rooms, our loo flooded the bathroom floor, we had to get dressed and go downstairs to use the loo !! and lights would only work from one switch, ( which did get sorted out to a fashion ) shaving light had to be replaced as not working. Lovely staff. Quite expense / overpriced for what you get.
