A lovely place, ideally placed for touring the area. Comfy bed, great shower and excellent breakfast. Not intrusive but at the same time Pete and Sue were very friendly. Would definitely stay again in the future.
We loved the historic feel to the property, and the staff were very attentive and friendly.
As long as you understand this property is hundreds of years old, you will be in for a unique stay.
Very quiet location, we loved it.
Nice country inn. Narrow, steep stairways a bit of a hassle to maneuver with luggage, but staff was quick to offer help at all times. The room was a comfortable size (important since we got rained out one day while the restaurant/pub were closed !) and nicely decorated. The bathroom is a bit small with a small sink and small shower, but plenty of hot water to warm up after getting caught in the rain. Breakfast was the fully cooked version and delicious - the ingredients all tasted fresh. We had dinner at the on premises pub and it too was delicious. I can imagine that the National Park area must get swarmed in the summer, so this was a nice retreat while still within walking distance of the park (about a mile away) Welcoming hospitality and good beers on tap.
Jack was super helpful. He answered all our questions and very friendly. All the other staff and owners were great as well. The food and drinks were excellent and we felt at home. Highly recommended!
A beautiful traditional pub decorated for Christmas and with gorgeous open fires, traditional ales and mulled cider. We were made to feel very welcome with our dog, the room was clean, comfortable and warm on arrival and we were provided with a superb breakfast consisting of local produce. The food menu had a nice choice of home cooked meals and we ate here both evenings of our stay. Great visit and we would definitely stay again.
A pleasant English pub in a lovely setting. The room was a bit small and the bathroom sink rather difficult to use. Service was excellent and the owner couldn't have been nicer, especially when the power was off when we arrived.
Food and drink was very good so overall not bad at all.
This beautiful inn is as good as it gets.
Rooms are lovely, breakfast was amazing, and they provided amazing recommendations and advice. A highlight of the entire trip. Thanks so much.
Very friendly hosts and accommodating. The rooms were very clean, especially the towels, shower and a nice range of toiletries. Very good food in the restaurant and the breakfast was cooked to order and was very good.
Brilliant friendly country pub. Warm welcome. Pub had a super selection of drinks, the food was delicious and of a very high standard. The bedroom was cozy, clean and warm.
Lovely proper country pub with good choice of beers and sound well prepared grub. Comfy beds with good shower. Plenty tea/ coffee choices and fresh milk readily available. No tellys - which might rankle with some at first - but embrace it because that's the point. Enjoy the place, the surroundings. Time to stop and listen and talk; indulge the senses. Lovely church next door and....oh yeah, a tranquil and handy alternative to Malham which gets a bit clogged with daytippers. Good base for the 3 peaks which was our mission.
A wonderful warm welcome from Peter, Sue and Jack at The Victoria! This is a cosy Dales pub close to Malham, a perfect base for walking and enjoying this beautiful area.
