Overall, it's a good hotel but I wouldn't choose to stay there again. It's clean, the rooms are nice, and it's conveniently located in downtown St. Paul. I was looking for a hotel that was within walking distance of Xcel Energy Center and this is less than a mile. The area, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Walking back at 10 pm was an adventure down poorly lit roads with lots of addicts and unhoused individuals. While we stayed safe, there were definitely some moments where we were approached by groups of people wanting money and we felt unsafe. Driving through the area at night is similar as many of the same people are wandering, sitting, or standing in the middle of the street. I sat through three lights at one point because I was unable to get around the people standing in front of the car. This isn't the hotel's fault but it's something to be aware of. What I didn't like about the hotel is that they charge for parking but don't have enough parking available. The first night I found a spot but then got blocked in by another guest because they just parked in the middle of the lot. The second night, even the fire lanes were full of parked cars and I had to park 2 blocks over. The only other issue was trying to get food for breakfast. As soon as they refilled any of the hot food, it was gone. They could not keep up with the demand so I ended up eating elsewhere. It's a lot of money to pay to not be able to use what you're paying for.

This hotel is a 10/10 plus some. It was our first time at this hotel and we were beyond impressed. The check-in & parking was nice and easy. The property was clean inside & out. Our room was nice & roomy. The evening social hour & breakfast was the best I've ever had at a hotel. We also loved the pool & hot tub. We encountered several staff that were friendly & helpful. We will definitely be back.

The hotel is a great place to stay at the staff was great the hotel was very clean I really like how your not getting in unless you use your room key so that made me feel real safe the breakfast and social hour was great our first time staying and we will recommend and we will be back the only down side was not a lot to do around the hotel no grocery store near and the only liquor store was the one across the street from the hotel and they were not friendly at all and everything was priced high and they didn’t see any thing to eat

We loved our stay at the Drury Plaza Hotel-Downtown St. Paul & will be back!! The hotel decor/design was casual modern (lots of comfy lounging spaces) and set within a historic/old building. Our room was great! Double queen suite…we stayed 2 nights. 2nd floor, so we had the pretty stone arched windows. Safe environment & surrounding area. Very nice, friendly staff (everyone was so pleasant even though it was busy). We walked to the Palace Theatre at 8:30pm (Aug) and walked home from the concert (Charley Crockett!) at 11ish and felt safe for the most part. One of the biggest bonuses of staying at the Drury were the free dinners! (& free drink at Happy Hour, if you drink.) We splurged on lunch on the town, but ate dinner at the hotel both nights. The food was pretty good…as were the breakfasts! A lot of options and again, very nice & pleasant staff. Saved our family at least $200. For us, that more than made up the $15 cost of parking! Simple safety tip: know where the stairs are in relation to your room. And know which elevator you take (as when you take the other one, you can get slightly turned around. NBD but the stairs is important (fire safety gal here!)

This hotel is fantastic! Glad I picked here to stay. The happy hour with food & drinks was such a bonus! Breakfast was really good too! Clean rooms and lobby was nice. Wish the pool was open a bit later but other than that it was such a great stay with friendly staff!

First time staying and wont be the last. The amenities are generous and the staff were so friendly. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. We will be back. Cant say enought about how amazing the customer service was.

We had a lovely stay for myself and 3 children ages 12-15. We love the meal options for this chain of hotels - a perk for sure that we took full advantage of. We had a good experience in the pool area - it was large enough and had a great hot tub. The pool itself was quite cloudy, so that could have been better. This particular hotel had sliding doors once inside the room for the room divider and the bathroom - this was not a perk in our opinion. Plus the shower was all glass and not an ideal situation for sharing the space with others. We would stay here again for sure - easy access to the highway but wasn't noisy at all.
