I stayed at this hotel during the Christmas holiday and gave it three stars mainly because it is still under renovation. While I was aware from reviews that remodeling was ongoing, I didn’t expect the lobby to look like a construction site when we checked in. To my surprise, I had to sign a consent form acknowledging the remodeling and agreeing to stay at the hotel despite the conditions. This felt unusual and added to my disappointment.
The staff weren’t rude, but they also didn’t go out of their way to make us feel welcome. For the price I paid, especially when compared to the Historic Inn I stayed at the night before, the overall experience felt subpar.
The room we stayed in had been remodeled but hadn’t been fully completed yet. It had limited lighting, and the water in the shower was only lukewarm—not cold, but definitely not hot enough for a comfortable shower. Additionally, despite the hotel being relatively empty due to renovations, they still charged a $10 parking fee. Waiving this fee would have been a thoughtful gesture to offset the inconvenience caused by the construction.
My suggestion is to wait until the renovations are complete before staying here. I’m expecting that once the remodeling is finished, this hotel will have a decent look and live up to the standards of a pricey resort.
