We had a quick check-in with a friendly reception staff member. The pool was enjoyable for a swim, although we were disappointed that the Jacuzzi was not working.
Can honestly say had the worst nights sleep ever. The bed was too soft, making it feel like you were being bounced around with every movement. Some deranged I can only image drunk idiot locked out of his room thought the best way in, would be to use brute force by attempting to kick the door in, whilst screaming let me in at the same time. There were also noisy drunk youths and screaming children running in the corridors throughout the night finally ended at 4.45, causing many interruptions in our sleep.
Feeling tired in the morning, we hoped for a refreshing swim only to find the pool closed until 12.30 due to staff sickness, which was another letdown.
We noticed signs around the hotel encouraging feedback for improvements if your stay is not at least a 7/10. However, with half of the pool facilities unusable and disturbances during the night, we would not recommend or stay at the Holiday Inn Rochester - Chatham again.
On a positive note, the breakfast options were plentiful, and the staff members were friendly, earning the hotel a rating of 5/10 in our experience.
