Best view and quite place.
very quite and dreamy place.Staff are so helpful and friendly. There are 8 cottages in total going down the hill with jungle view, just remember many stairs to take if you are down the hill.We will come back for sure :) a bit far from ubud city but there is a free shuttle service twice a day, very close to rice fields.I recommend use their car service and driver for daily tour, fair price and very friendly.

Nice solo, jungle escape
This place is perfect if you want a wuiet, peaceful getaway with nobody to disturb you. A nice jungle environment with extremely friendly staff and an Infinity pool that looks out into the jungle. Room massages are also available after a long day of exploring, and tge villa is within travelling distance of the Tegalalang Rice Fields.

Lovely staff and generally clean facilities however I did feel it was not what was advertised and certainly does not represent the photos that are posted. The room we stayed in was tiny, the breakfast was extremely limited and the ‘resturant’ advertised was a woman cooking out of the same place that the clothes are washed. The pool was tiny compared to the photos that were shown. Although it’s in a very tranquil and beautiful spot, if you are not comfortable renting your own spot you are essentially trapped there with only 1 free drop off and pick up into Ubud each day. Although I was very comfy at night, my partner got very little sleep because of the very hard beds. All in all, this is the place for people who want complete seclusion

The staff were very polite. They had given us the wrong room at check in, but were quick to solve the problem. The outdoor bathroom wasn't as nice as I had hoped, but made for a unique experience. The jungle was beautiful. We had a wonderful view. We had been hiking the entire day before check in and found all of the stairs to be unpleasant, especially since our room was located at the very bottom. The free breakfast started at 9 am, which was the same time that the free shuttle left, so we never had our included free breakfast. This hotel just wasn't what I had expected it to be.

Great stay at DD
I had a wonderful stay here! It’s out of the craziness of Ubud, in amongst so much greenery. I loved being able to wake up early, catch ride to Tegalalang Rice Terraces for sunrise (50,000idr), before the tourist masses came. Great view from bungalow, and the pool was lovely!

Lodges in the forest
DD Ubud was a great experience for me and my friends. The room was comfortable with a big bed, great outdoor bathroom (we didn't experience any bugs) and the infinity pool has such a great view. A little while out of Ubud so using the free shuttle bus is necessary. All in all a great place to relax in the forest.

Calm, Quiet Stay At DD Villa
The staff is very friendly and helpful. It was very close to Ubud shopping center with a free shuttle to and from the hotel which was very helpful. They also had personal drivers that were on call in case you wanted to venture out and do other things as well. The experience of an outdoor bathroom and shower was surprisingly pleasant as well. The only thing I struggled with was that the rooms were very dark, so a little extra light would have been great but overall it was a very nice stay.

Quiet oasis close to Ubud
This is a great place for anyone wanting a quiet escape out of the hussle and bustle of Ubud. It is secluded and extremely peaceful with wonderful staff. It takes about 20 mins to ride into Ubud in a taxi or scooter.

Defiantly "glamping" type of villas
Stayed for one night on our travels from the north to south of island. Beautiful area in the peace of the jungle. Villa was not quite what we expected. Smaller than we thought. Bathroom large but constantly checking toilet for ants and bugs before using. LOTS of ants (black and red ones) in and around our villa. Room had a mosquito net above bed which was defiantly beneficial. Just felt we had to keep our suitcases and bags zipped up the whole time to prevent ants and bugs getting into our stuff. We did call room service for supper. Food good and reasonable amount of time in it getting to our room. Breakfast okay too. Eating on the balcony of villa is a nice view; but once again constantly trying to keep bugs away. It wasn't bad for a night stay... but almost felt like camping in a villa.

Tranquility and relaxation at its best!
This place blew me away. If recharging your batteries is what you need away from the hustle and bustle, then don't look any further. My room was down the bottom with the sound of the river flowing at night and a wall of green everywhere I looked. Staff shuttle you in and out of ubud if you want to get into town or can schedule a full tour wherever you want to go. A professional and lovely group of people!

Jungle Villa
We loved our stay at the DD Ubud villas! They're just north of the center of Ubud. It's actually nice to stay out of the center and be surrounded by the jungle. The view from the villa is unreal! We felt so relaxed at the villa. The ride into the center of Ubud is only about ten minutes. The villa is down a nice windy road full of rice fields. We enjoyed taking the back roads past all of the temples and rice fields. Def stay here! The staff was wonderful. They helped us set up white water rafting and arranged our ride back to the airport.

Nice hotel if looking for a romantic getaway
Quiet secluded hotel perfect for relaxing and has a shuttle to the centre of ubud when you want to be amongst the busyness of Bali. Outdoor bathrooms are amazing and the fresh air is awesome. I went with a friend but would recommend more for couples. Yes their was a rooster making noise and cows mooing but that really wasn't too bad and not the hotels fault.

Amazing scenery right in the middle of the jungle. Super isolated though. A good 15/20min drive to get into town. Hotel offers a shuttle but only at 9am and 3pm and 9pm pick up from town.

All Lies!
The blurb of this hotel says it is 1.6km from the Monkey Forest, has a restaurant and bar, and there is a kids pool. None of this is true! While the views are great, the villa is a 25 minute drive from Ubud centre and if you would like to have dinner at the villa, it must be ordered by 7.30pm as the local restaurant closes around that time. Nothing is made on site, I could not even get a few Bintangs delivered to my room. A free shuttle is provided at 9am and 3pm to Ubud, but the driver at DD will charge you 80,000 to take you into town at any other time. We tried to make the most of the situation, however after arriving home after dinner and drinks with family in Ubud centre, we found red ants had made their way into our room. Never mind we thought, we have the mosquito net. I awoke at 6am to find red ants in and on my bed, dead moths on the bed, so many red ants and moths on the floor that you could not sit on the bed, walk in the room, stand on the balcony or even sit on the toilet without being bitten. I wish I could upload photos! We also awoke to our door open and ajar, I'm not quite sure how that happened... The manager was helpful in helping to obtain a refund for the nights we did not stay, and we found much better accommodation in the centre of Ubud at Komaneka Rasa Sayang. For the price we paid for DD I expected a lot more. We ended up paying an extra $200 AUD for the 3 nights for a bigger room, complementary massage, better experience and no ants. Dont do it!!

Incredible hotel in the middle of the jungle. Outside bathroom/showering under the stars. Infinity pool looking over the jungle. Great shuttle service twice a day into Ubud (not really within easy walking distance to anything except rice paddies). Great value and a real adverture

Rustic Cabin, beautiful view. Not tourist area.
It he best way to describe it is like the most beautiful cabin to camp in. It is located 20-30 minutes from Ubud (they have a free shuttle multiple times a day) the rooms are wooden, musty, shower and toilet outside, and the Air condition sorta keeps the room cool. Bed felt damp. We enjoyed the view but could have done without the roosters in the morning and odd sounds at night. Our biggest complaint was the ants. The balcony table was covered with them and a few in the room too. It's simply rustic so if that's what you are looking for this a perfect fit:) We thought it was okay for one night.

Not for us
Completely isolated. Costs au$10 each way to Ubud (free shuttle VERY limited). Nothing to do at the 'villas' which may be appealing to some but not for us. The 'villas' are very basic huts. Over 100 stairs to the reception from bottom 'villa' - which we were allocated. Our teenage children were higher up. Meant less stairs for them but too far away from us. They felt scared (they are well travelled and used to having their own hotel rooms). The steps are very slippery. We are fit and healthy and I thought the steps wouldn't be an issue. I was wrong. The steps were horrible. Experienced a number of significant issues management have acknowledged and can fix (eg tap water usage, lack of information in rooms re lights, telephone contacts, safes, door locks, etc). We left after 1 night out of our 3 nights that we had paid for. The whole design of the 'villa' is a problem. Up a couple of steps, in front door into the room. Side door onto verandah along veranda through doors, down some steps into the outdoor bathroom. Bathroom itself was private, but verandah completely exposed. During night unlock the verandah door, across verandah, down stairs to bathroom. Sounds like a 'so what?', but with gastro, naked, unable to turn lights on, bathroom was a real issue. Flying insects an issue all night due to gaps in construction. Can't recommend, but nature lovers who want to escape to absolutely nothing, be completely isolated would find this appealing.

Stayed for 2 nights - it is a little far from central Ubud but overall very nice. Breakfast though was not good - Indonesian and Western.
