Gorgeous Views and Spacious
We had a great time at the property. It was spacious and the views of the lake were amazing. Downside is getting down to the water -the steps were steep which was not easy for smaller children or the elderly. Also the master bedroom gets very hot on warm days and the AC doesn't quite work in that room (the rest of the house was able to get cool). Definitely in need of some upgrades including some easy fixes like new mattresses, bedding. But overall we enjoyed our experience.

Comfortable stay with great views! Reason for 4 not 5 stars
We enjoyed our stay at this property very much. Beautiful views of lake ( although we had rough weather for all 5 days of our stay). Loved the open up north feel of property and we all had our private spaces to retreat to. The large kitchen table was the hub of activity through much of our stay - beautiful! The owner was very responsive to a special request we had once we were staying there. Reasoning for 4 stars and not 5 -Only negative is pricing. We booked this rental last November for an out of town extended family get a way. As time got closer to our stay, I noticed the price dropped dramatically along with the exorbitant extra fees. I contacted both property management, VRBO and owner. Did not hear back from VRBO and property management until day before we were to arrive. All would not budge on pricing. This was not what we expected, as we were not staying quite at peak season and as it got closer to peak, pricing was so much lower. I may think twice prior to booking again, even though property was very nice and ideal size - due to feeling taken advantage of.

Perfect spot!
Perfect location to explore the area- Charlevoix, petowy, Mackinac Island, Traverse City, Gish Town, Sleeping Bear Dunes. Come back in the evening for a peaceful spot at the house! Everything you need is here. Although the water was high, it was easy to walk on the rocks and get in the water to look for stones! Highly recommend!

Great location
The house is very nice and the location is awesome. The house overlooks the lake and there was a wonderful breeze almost all of the time. You can open all the windows and listen to the waves and the rustling of the trees. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet. There is a terrific beach which is just a half mile down the road, and there were very few people at the beach -- no crowds. We also drove into Charlevoix and walked around and that was fun too.

Charlevoix stay
Had a great time in Charlevoix. This house is a nice location if you’re looking to do both Charlevoix and Traverse City. There is no beach at the moment due to high lake levels but there is a nice local beach that is walking distance. The hosts were very accommodating! I highly recommend especially if you have a larger group.

Great home base for exploring Northern Michigan.
This was a magnificent, fully equipped home in which we fell in love on first visit with Northern Michigan. We loved starting and ending our days overlooking and listening to the lake from the deck, and appreciated having the use of a pair of kayaks to get out on the water as well. Given its central location we took easy day trips to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes, Torch Lake, Charlevoix, and Mackinac Island, but also spent a great day on the local beach which was in walking distance just down the road and along which it seemed one could walk forever. At night, we enjoyed playing pool in the downstairs game room, gathering in the great room, and playing cards around a table big enough for all of us. Can't wait to come back.

Great Summer Getaway with Beach Access
Despite having poor weather during our stay, we enjoyed the house and the small beach. During a break in the rain we used the kayaks and SUP - it was great having private beach access. The house was spacious and clean, and had plenty of room for a multi-generational family. Loved the large dining table and the kitchen was well stocked. The kids enjoyed the pool table and foosball in the basement. But for me, the best part was the view of the sunset over the lake from the couch!

Family Getaway
We had a great stay! It was a perfect get away with my parents and best friend and their baby. It was so cold that weekend, but the cozy fire place and large living area made it perfect for wine and board games! We had a blast. The only down fall was we couldn’t get the internet to connect for the tv. But, we ended up figuring it out after talking with the hosts in time for the football game! Great stay. Will be back!

Smelly House
Walking into the basement the smell of mold/mildew was overpowering! It seemed to be contained in the basement until the furnace was turned on to take the chill out of the house at which time the smell went throughout the house. Upon contacting the owner about the smell they didn’t seem surprised; rather they suggested we open a window - of which there are none in the basement. As for the beach? Well, it no longer exists due to the higher water levels Lake Michigan has been experiencing the past few years. They shouldn’t be touting an amenity that no longer exists. The house was clean in appearance though the overpowering smell made you question the cleanliness. I would not recommend.

Family getaway
We had to change our family vacation destination at the last minute due to Florida becoming a hotspot for COVID and needed a place we could drive to instead of fly and we came across this beautiful property. Although the steep steps straight to the water and the absence of a beach you could set out chairs on were not exact ideal for a family traveling with two toddlers, the property had a nice open space along with an expansive deck so it was certainly beautiful. We. made the best of getting into the water when the waves weren’t too big (it is Lake Michigan, after all!)with all the water toys and floats available on the property:) There is also a beach 1/2 mile down the road which was a wonderful option:) The house is mostly glass in the back shaded by a good many tall trees...you can see the lake at any given time from inside the house or on the deck and the sunsets were spectacular! The Keenan’s were delightful and very helpful and very responsive to any questions or concerns we had. The house is a short drive from Charlevoix which is a great place to hop in to eat, shop, or watch the boats come and go. We had a great time...Michigan, you did not disappoint!

Gorgeous views and location
Gorgeous sunsets and amenities for everyone at this property. Enjoy the serenity of the sunsets by campfire after a day at the beach in nearby Elk Rapids or strolling in nearby Charlevoix. Just an hour away from the bridge easy to take a day trip over to Mackinac Island. This is a quiet Community ideal for peaceful getaways. Water levels vary but kayaks and paddle board easily can be transported to nearby beaches and local lakes, etc. we found a lot of Petosky stones and made a lot of memories!

Great view, great location
This location is great. Fantastic views of Lake Michigan from the cliffs on the cliff edge deck. The house is huge for a larger group. The owners are extremely quick to reply to problems or questions. A great township park beach is a 15 minute walk and a great place to kayak on the lake. Check a map, you are centered in a fantastic area to explore. We will definitely return again!

Wonderful view
Lovely home with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Very roomy and comfortable with all the extras you would expect (chimnea, grill, kayaks, pool table, etc). Would highly recommend staying at this home. We had only two tiny things to complain about. There was a skunk smell at night, but it could have been from the woods or several houses down, who knows. The second is the cleanliness of the kitch cabinets and floor. They were both a bit sticky and could have been cleaner. Both are nitpicky issues, and I would definitely stay here again.

Quiet, Casual, Fun, Relaxing Lake Michigan Break
My wife and I and our four kids spent a week at this beautiful, quiet, casual home right on Lake Michigan overlooking the tip of Leelanau Peninsula and South and North Fox Islands. With five bedrooms, plus a huge great room / dining room / kitchen, and downstairs game room, everyone had space to spread out and have quiet time on their own. There is a private beach down about 40 stairs from the outer deck in the back yard. The beach was nearly covered in water while we were there but the water levels did change daily. Shallow water leading out dozens of yards into the Lake was great for splashing around and rock hunting, and we used the owner's kayaks and hobie boards Quiet town of Norwood is 15 miles south of Charlevoix - tranquility abounds - but it is only a short hop to shopping and great eating/dining/shopping in Charlevoix. The Traverse City Airport is only 40 minutes away. The Owners were extraordinarily welcoming and helpful. The dishwasher broke down and they sent a repairman right away. It needed a part so we did dishes by hand but they gave us a day's credit for our troubles. Super A#1 experience all around.

Beautiful Home on the Big lake!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "Bally Aran Loch" house on the lake. Sitting high above Lake Michigan, the views of the water throughout the day are quite spectacular culminating in beautiful sunsets. We are looking forward to our next stay.
