Convenient Hotel Near Mohegan Sun
We stayed at this hotel November 16-17 2024 for the CT Car Show at Mohegan Sun, and it was a great experience! Mohegan Sun was charging $800-1K+ a night for their rooms last minute, Fairfield hotel was under $400 and only 3 minutes driving wise. It was also very convenient having the on demand free shuttle to and from Mohegan Sun. Jeffery the shuttle driver was so professional and such a great guy! He was awesome! Here is my experience with this hotel: Rooms Rooms are very nice, they definitely show their age especially the furniture, but it’s not a bad thing. Plug in Outlets throughout the room is very nice, sadly no USB ports. Room TV has Netflix, YouTube and HBO Max built in to watch for free which is really nice! Pull out Couch is also nice for more people to sleep in the room. Bathroom is large and clean. Nearby activities -Mohegan Sun: 3 minute drive from hotel -Foxwoods Casino and Tanger Outlet mall: 10-15 minute drive -Walmart: 5 minute drive Safety Neighborhood itself is relatively safe and quiet. Parking lot of this hotel was well lit at night both front, back and sides of the property with LED lights, making it safe to park and walk to and from hotel. Walkability Not much to walk to around this neighborhood, it’s better to drive to get to places from this hotel than it is to walk. But stores and the casino is close by with car, highway is nearby as well. Food & drinks Free breakfast was great! 2 waffle makers, eggs and sausage, and other small items

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice enough for the cost. However, the bathrooms were not great with poor lighting. Also, the plug in the bathtub was broken and there was even any plug in the sink. The food was mediocre, at best (with the coffee especially terrible), although you don't expect much at a hotel like this.

The positive's are the staff was friendly and it was very convenient to the New England craft fair, which is why we were there. The negative is when we checked in on Friday evening we noticed a strong odor in our room, it was almost like a chemical smell. We did not think much of it and were heading to the fair anyway. When we came back we noticed the odor was still there but we were so tired we all called it a night. My daughter and I went down for breakfast in the lobby the next morning. We both noticed we had headaches. We headed back up to the room and noticed the smell as soon as we opened the door. I decided to speak with someone at the front desk and see what our options were. Check out or see if we could change rooms. I was told we could not check out as reservation was made through Expedia- I understood. She did make the offer for us to switch rooms, which we agreed to. I did not get her name but she then came up to the 4th floor and told us we could move just right across the hall. We checked out the room and there was no odor in the other room. As she walked into our room she indicated to me that she could also smell what we were smelling and she was going to have maintenance check it out. We did reach out to Expedia to see if we could have a complete comp for Friday night and were told that the Marriott had accommodated us already by moving our room. Not really happy with that. There should have either been a credit or complete comp.

The property was well decorated, the staff was helpful, and the room was nice. My bed was very comfortable, I slept well, which is rare. I'd recommend this hotel and would stay there in the future

Definitely recommended for families
Hotel room was spacious and clean. Comfortable beds and when I asked for extra pillows they brought them to the room in less than 10 minutes. Excellent front desk service. The driver for the shuttle was helpful and polite and on time. Definitely recommend staying here if visiting the casinos. The only negative is that one could hear everything in the hall so it was hard to sleep in with all the house outside.

It was nice…best was the free shuttle to Mohegan…downfall… it was noisy.could hear people talking through out the night…sometimes sounded like they were right outside our room.
