The location is very convenient, close to shops, restaurants and the beach. Especially too close to the famous Stanley Park. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. Can not complain with the price room, very cheap comparing to other hotels.

This is a very old hotel but it is extremely clean and in a fabulous area. A short walk to Stanley Park and tons of interesting places to eat. No amenities really but great for a one night stay.

Its so outdated, missing toilet paper holder, missing lightbulb in bathoom, rust. Window sill crumbling, old frayed towels. Never again. So disappointed. Stayed once before and its worse now! Elevator went out for aehile too.

I thought it was great that it had a little kitchen area. The only problem I saw was the rugs looked like someone threw up on them and it didn't smell that great. They could use a good cleaning. Overall, I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent location. Awful facility. Location: Right near the beach, Stanley Park, loads of restaurants, easy public transit. Facility: Astounding variety of smells and stains. Dilapidated, dingy, dim. Fascinating that it persists in the area, in the middle of a building and gentrification boom.

Absolutely loved the English Bay Area to stay 2 days before our Alaskan cruise. Staff at English bay hotel were extremely nice, we arrived around noon and the young gentleman working the front desk said our room was ready, he gave us our key to our room then headed to our room even thought checkin wasn’t until 3pm. That was awesome since we didn’t have to carry our luggage around for 3 hours. Thanks English bay hotel for making our trip smooth and memorable.

Blew the budget on P!nk concert so stayed here because it was the cheapest accommodation I could find. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything, it was just old. And being old, the entire place is pretty dirty.

The location was superb. Close to the beach and lots of food venues and restaurants in easy walking distance. The hotel itself is a bit tired but the bed was comfortable and it was reasonably priced so it met our needs.

The refrigerator did not work properly. One day they were working on the elevator but did not put any signage up to take the stairs. Five of us were stuck in the elevator for a bit and the emergency call button didn’t work. I had to call the hotel from my phone and thankfully had connection. The room was dirty and the lampshades very dusty. Great location to the park and walkable to other areas.

Hotel was very outdate, as expected for the price. The interior has seen a hard life bit overall it seemed well disenfected. The downside was the perculiar smells in each area, all different, all offputting. The room smelt of heavy disenfectent, possibly still of gassing. The biggest downside wss the noise. We where on the second floor, directly over the street food bar/hangout. It was loud, the windows offered little to minimize the noice. This kept up well into the night. Amateur race car drivers practiced their redlight launches throughout the night to ensure we were kept alert. Overall could be an ok budget hotel as the area is fantastic though you should really focus on the finer details!

Hotel was old, real old, and dirty. The elevator was not working so after a few hours, I decided to book elsewhere and not stay here. The location is great but there's a standard that must be met to be considered a budget hotel.
