We had booked this for one night. We rang the owner at 8:45pm to let them know our flights were delayed, meaning we wouldnt arrive until 12/1am. The owner said ‘ok fine thank you’. When we arrived, we found the apartment block easily and rang the bell. We then rang the owner after 5 minutes of waiting. No one answered the phone. We received a whatsapp message from the number saying to ring a different number, which we did and also had no reply. This carried on with several numbers for quite some time. A resident of the building came out, and we went into the building after. We found the accommodation we had paid for, but despite seeing light under the door, and hearing voices and movement inside, noone answered the door when we knocked and rang the bell. We continued to whatsapp the person who had replied, but after 45 minutes were told that noone was working anymore so we wouldnt be let into the accommodation, leaving two girls stranded on their first night in italy.
In hindsight, it is apparent that the first phone call was not understood from the BB staystation employees. A simple:pardon/dont understand would have been better to avoid confusion. Thankfully, AO hostel is on the same road and were more than welcoming to help us get out of the mess caused by BB staystation, and helped us to find good accommodation for the night. Stay away from BB staystation at all costs! We are awaiting a full reimbursement for the room we werent able to use+extra costs incurred.
