We used the Bear Hotel as a base whilst visiting the Air Tattoo in Fairford. It was a great location for us. The food and drinks at the hotel were excellent and reasonably priced. The room was adequate for what we needed. I would use this hotel again
Last minute, last room available. It was a small single room with tiny bathroom but it served its purpose. Shower hose leaked badly into the regulator but still worked. Very good and speedy breakfast, most delicious.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Room comfort
I had a single courtyard room. On the plus side it wasn’t expensive, the staff were friendly & breakfast was fine.
Unfortunately the bathroom was tired & anyone who’s on the larger side may struggle as it’s small. The shower & unit had seen better days. The plumbing made some awful banging noise especially after flushing the toilet which isn’t great in the middle of the night!
As this is essentially a pub, any courtyard room is straight onto an outside area where people are sat drinking right outside the door. The noise was really loud and whilst the pub closes at 11pm if you want to sleep before then this isn’t a good option. Also when I had the bedroom light on they could see in so I had to close the curtains.
Again because the room opens to the outdoors there were a couple of large spiders that appeared.
Whilst free Wi-Fi is available the reception is awful and kept dropping out entirely. This may be due to the location of the courtyard rooms.
Unfortunately there is no parking at the hotel which was really inconvenient. I had to go to a long stay car park in an undercroft where free parking is available from 6pm to 9am. Outside of that charges apply. My car was fine but I didn’t feel comfortable leaving it there.
I won’t be staying again.
Booked in for 2 hours, sat and had lunch hadn’t even put our bags in the room then had a family emergency so could not stay, hotel and hotels.com would not refund us.
