Santa's Par-Tee Getaway by Maple Hills Golf Course

Two-story farm home with lots of room.

Large Kitchen with many dishes, crock pots, baking pans for Family Meals. I love to cook for large groups so have lots of pots and pans. Some of them are in a microwave cart in the laundry room off of the kitchen.

Large Deck with glass top table many chairs and umbrella off Kitchen and Front room.

Antique Bedroom on the main floor, Full-size bed that dates back in time, the dresser is also a piece from a time gone by, antique chair, bay window, hardwood floor with large rug that gives a warm feel to the room, bed holds it in place so no worries of slipping.

A Full bathroom with shower off the hallway next to Antique room. This bathroom has handrails by the toilet and in shower. My mother-in-law uses a walking cane and did well in this bedroom and bathroom.

Upper level has a sitting room with TV, Day Bed with Trundle bed, and two nice chairs one antique chair a kids rocker, and a desk and roll chair.

Second Full bathroom also has a shower.
Large hallway to other bedrooms.

First room has a queen bed and large dresser and closet.

Second room has two twin beds with a large closet and dresser, there is a pack-in-play in closet as well, there is an old school deck for a nightstand with lamp.

We have added two twin size roll-away beds that can be rolled out to hallway. Bedding for those are in closet of twin room with roll-away beds.

The view from the hall window looks out on the Number one Green of Maple Hills Golf Course.

Step out the door in summer and you are on the "Maple Hills Golf Course".

Step out in Winter to Groomed Snowmobile trail right across the road, you can ride for miles and miles.
If you like to play at Casino's, you are only 4 miles from Ho-Chunk Gaming and a second Casino "North Star " is only (13 miles) 15 minutes away.
"NUESKE'S SCHOOLHOUSE MARKET"
This is a "priceless gem" well over a century old, built in 1882 saved by BOB NUESKE from demolition is next to NUESKE'S World Famous Applewood Smoked Meat Company is less than 3 miles down the road.

The Walls of Wittenberg is must-see. The art is outstanding. There is a WOW web page you can go to see upcoming Events. (www.wallsofwittenberg.com).

Rachel's Roadside Bar and Grill is just 0.4 miles down the road. She has great Pizza and more.

If you are looking for a great place to take the family the local Bowling alley is Resch Lanes in Wittenberg just 3 miles down the road. They also serve good food and beverages.

Don't miss the Museum of Wittenberg just a few blocks farther.

The people are very friendly and will guide you anywhere so just ask anyone if you can't find what you want.

Wittenberg Family Restaurant is a great place for a meal out. The staff is friendly and uplifting.

For security reasons I have two camera's for when guests are NOT on property. These camera's are only outside by back and front door of home. It will move but no recording will take place when guests are booked. Thank you for choosing our 100 plus year-old home.

Private, roomy & convenient
Country Chalet is located at the end of a golf course, so it offered a lot of privacy and a large yard to walk our dog. We loved the location- about a 35 minute drive to Shawano and close to relatives in other towns. The house is roomy and very well-stocked with everything you might need. Several appliances are new within the last few years and everything was clean. It is a historic home, with all the things that come with a vintage property- including interesting antiques and baseboard heat. Two suggestions: room darkening blinds in the Antique bedroom and a full length mirror somewhere in the house. There is a good family restaurant, Harvest, nearby. Helen, the owner, was very responsive and accommodating.

STAY AWAY!
I would not recommend staying here. The place looks nothing like the pictures. I wish I could attach pictures so you could see the difference. The owner will say it is because there was a tornado, but the issues we had were nothing to do with a tornado. Outside: Grass not cut, weeds everywhere, couldn't walk up a stairs because overgrown with weeds, weeds coming up through deck, 4 hornets nests, wood chips all over driveway and grass. Inside: Owner admitted place was never cleaned before we came. Hair shavings in bathroom sinks, bathroom garbages not emptied, I washed ALL sheets and towels as they smelled very bad, one toilet wouldn't flush properly and just ran the whole time, tons of dead flies in every windowsill and on floor, used hair ties in bathrooms and floors, expired medicine on kitchen counter. I could go on. I did contact the owner and we agreed on an amount to be refunded to me. When she showed up at the property without texting me prior, she did not give me the full amount. She said she did not have time to go through all of my emails. I was very calm and pleasant all through this dreadful experience. I told her she owed me more money and repeated all I did to the house to make it clean. She threw "F" bombs at me and told me I was never going to stay there again. (Like I was anyway) I calmly told her to stop cursing at me and she threw me some money. She still did not give me all that was promised in our emails. We did find out from several different locals that this place is never kept up and they advised us to stay away. So I would definitely NOT recomment this place.

Enjoyed our stay
Well stocked kitchen, working appliances, firepit with lots of wood, place to park (outside), quiet enough, facing a green on the golf course with areas to sit outside and relax. The place and furnishings are old but the house itself is clean with plenty of linens provided. My roommate was a snorer (freight train? and not a knock on this place, of course) which prompted me to take my bed to the hallway where I was more comfortable next to an AC unit. The unit has 3 Bedrooms (2 with a bed each, one with two twin beds) and two bathrooms. Bring a snorer at your own peril if there are five of you or one less person. We also saw a rollaway in the closet. Helen was very responsive to our messages and question.

Great, comfortable place to stay
This was my 1st VRBO experience and we chose this site as it is located in an area that I have been going up to since I was a child. The house is so comfy, is stocked with absolutely everything you would need and we felt at home immediately. Check in was extremely easy and there was no issue that required us to contact the host. Because of my ties to the area, this will definitely be a repeat VRBO site for me!

Big thank you to Helen! Check in was easy. House was warm, both in temperature and inviting charm. The beds were comfy, the toilet/showers were clean. My group would make the drive to Granite Peak every morning. The commute was about 30mins, easy highway driving. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away!

Lovely, clean remodeled farmhouse.
Enjoyed our stay very much. Excellent value while we were in area beekeeping. We enjoyed the individual bedrooms, the kitchen with staples for cooking and utensils, great dishwasher, washer, dryer. It was enjoyable sitting around firepit and we appreciated the firewood very much. Circle driveway so convenient for easy in and out. Golf course a lovely quiet neighbor. Deck and outdoor furniture was welcome retreat for us after day's work.

Charmin Location
The property is 100 years old, but all appliances are new. Very good showers. Very well equipped kitchen, you can find anything you need there, including necessary products such as Oats, olive oil, spices, honey, etc. What we were missing though was dishwasher: there was 6 of us. There was plenty of clean towels, in the kitchen and bathrooms. It was a little hot upstairs where two of the three bedrooms are located. Also, location is great: the house is literally on the golf course, and there no other houses in view. You can walk around all you want, it is very pretty. There is a fire pit outside the house, we did not use it though: it was too hot. We had a very good time in this house.
