This Guest House is located very close to the CBD, and many attractions in and around wanganui. The river itself is the longest navigable river in New Zealand, and offers jet boat tours and more gentler rides on the Waimarie paddle steamer, the last remaining in New Zealand. The river attracts cyclists, hikers ,canoeists,and day trippers. The Sarjeant Gallery holds more than 5,500 art works from the 1840's to the present day. The regional museum is famous for its Taonga Maori Collection, second to none in Aotearoa. There is the Durie Hill Elevator and Tower, Glass blowing exibitions and gallery , Farmer's market , mountain to sea cycle trails, observatory and much loved childrens play ground. Throughout the year there is the masters games, street motorcycle racing, V8 jet boat sprints, opera week, Vintage weekend where every thing from the bygone era is on display. Not forgetting the ski slopes are only 1and 1/2 hrs away.
