Nice hotel but let down by a few niggles

Sockets in room in odd places. Needed to have the kettle on the floor as no socket anywhere near the desk (since there were only 2 teabags and 3 creamers we didn’t use it very much anyway). We also had the fan cord draped across the bathroom door (because the only European socket was where the fan should have been and we needed that one to charge our phones so the fan had to go elsewhere). Room was in the roof so one side had a low sloping roof which made the roof feel smaller than it already was. Bathroom was via a sliding door very close to the bed (you’d want to know your travelling companion very well!). Apart from this the hotel was nice. Decor was pretty funky and it’s in a great location.

The Townhouse is in a great location for the station and Old Town. Friendly team. The Junior Suite we were in was lovely and a step up from the room we stayed in the week before. Breakfast buffet was a good start to the day. Would happily recommend and would stay again when in Zurich.

Great Town Hotel

We only had a one night stay but the hotel is lovely and very close to the railway station. The room was comfortable, no air conditioning (the weather was very hot) but a decent fan was supplied. Breakfast was more than enough with excellent choices and lovely staff. The only downside was that due to its town location it was very noisy and night. It didn’t bother us too much but it certainly wasn’t quiet there! We would however stay there again without hesitation!

Perfect Location

I can't think of a better location. Never been to Zurich and we were only in town for a day. Hotel is a block away from the incredible Zurich public transport system. We took a tram to the boat for a lake cruise; a bus to the top of the hill for an amazing sunrise; and a quick bus to the Lindt chocolate factory. No A/C as normal in Switzerland, but there was a fan and we slept with the windows open. Would definitely stay here again.

Staff very friendly and helpful, location excellent. Rooms small but with everything needed including bathrobe and slippers. Rooms clean although worn need a little tlc around paintwork and furnishings. All in all an enjoyable 4 day stay.

We selected this hotel primarily for the location close to the train station, but it was a fantastic location in general. A block walk to the water and very close to everything else, bars, restaurants, shops. There is a restaurant and bar attached and the staff was aweaome and helpful. We did not get the breakfast there, but our friends did and they enjoyed it very much. The hotel itself is very unique and beautifully decorated. I loved all the fun wallpaper! Our room was small but comfortable. Bed and pillows were very comfy. The rooftop terrace was small but had a nice view of the evening sky and 6 of us were able to hang out fairly comfortably. Staff was excellent and friendly. NOTE: there is no air-conditioning at this hotel. We were there during a summer heat wave, so it was warm. However, with the fan they provided and opening the window at night, we were able to sleep comfortably. We are from a hot humid climate, so it was not terrible for us, but might be for those not used to it. I would stay here again when visiting Zurich.

Due to late check-in, there was no one available to check us into the property at the hotel. They sent us an email with details of the room key being left in the ‘black box’ at the door of the property. On arrival we discovered they had actually left the room key with the manager of the bar downstairs instead. On entry to the room we saw the toilet had been filled with tissue? When we flushed we quickly discovered the toilet was blocked with the tissue and therefore unable to be used for the duration of the stay, (one night). We went downstairs to see if there was anyone available to help/change rooms, however there was no hotel staff/number to contact.

The room thankfully had a fan but the lack of AC would have affected my decision to book if I had noticed it. Related, typical to Europe, hotels tend to not do a top sheet but a down comforter. This makes sleeping in a hot room even more difficult. The room was also very small with the only place to open larger luggage being the bed. I want to add, however, the staff was amazing.

Great location only steps from the main train station in Zurich yet quiet location - cafe on street in front of hotel is very convenient - junior suite was comfortable and well appointed with frig and microwave
