Very good

This was our second stay here. While dated in some respects or was perfect for a 3 night stay. It was clean and quiet. Housekeeping came around 4pm the first day and around 11 the second day. That didn't bother us. Only reason we really knew was lucky timing haha. Mostly we walked around and did some tours at Uncle Sams Boat Tours. It's very walkable to everything you want to do in that area. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The first day we were there it was rainy so this was a bonus.
Our stay was very nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the tiki bar, also the staff is very friendly.
The hotel is starting to show its age, some renovations are needed.
The staff at the Riveredge was excellent. My room however had a non operationally deadbolt on the door and as a woman traveling alone I was uncomfortable with that. I alerted the front desk of the problem and they immediately offered to change my room and even sent someone up to help me move. Hallways are dark and carpet is in disrepair in spots.the pool facilities are beautiful BUT pool water was to cold and the hot tub was to hot. Alexandria Bay treads on George Boldt’s reputation of excellence. It felt like there were many missed opportunities, and not just at the Riveredge resort. I waited a half hr for a sandwich and a beer at Riley’s and my twilight boat tour was cancelled but there were still seats on the dinner cruise. Felt like I was being upsold. I understand that there must be a certain number of passengers to take a boat out, but if you cancel a trip why not offer me the next trip going at the same price. I will still visit Alex Bay bc I love it there. I realize they have a short season, but they need to step up their game a bit.
Wonderful, kind, and helpful staff!! Easy preregistration and check in. Very comfortable. Dinner in restaurant was delicious and morning breakfast with beautiful water view and excellent Buffett. Wait staff were superb
The only issue is the parking lot is small for the place and fills up quickly. There are 2 small overflow lots across the street. Everything else was great!
Very poor view for being waterside. Bathroom smelled & mold in grout in shower. Poor accommodations for price. Entire establishment could use significant makeover. Exterior around pool crumbling. Flowers dead outside. Could go on but what’s the point. One & done!

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The linens were stained! No towel was white. The carpets were old & dirty. The whirlpool tub albeit a great concept; really needed cleaning or replacing. The front desk area was very tired & messy. We paid a lot for a little. Breakfast on the patio was nice but very minimum, no flowers. The following 2 nights we stayed in nicer hotels with a fabulous breakfast and beautiful grounds & flowers, and it was less money. Do definitely wouldn’t stay again.
Needed a handicapped room and they didn't have one. Went to get ice, 2nd floor didn't have any, 3rd floor didn't have any. Finally 4th floor had some. Didn't appreciate having to go on a hunting spree, especially when this 72 yr. Old doesn't move the best. For the amount paid I don't think it lived up to the potential.
