The room was nice and spacious, and the location just steps from the waterfront was nice. Note that the beach begins a few hundred meters further down, at the motel it is just a sea wall.

An older style cabin but very comfortable and in a great position, near the beach. Easy to walk to the river walk, Pancake Rocks and the Hotel.

Best Sunset in New Zealand
You have to book in at the hotel 400 meters down the road. Cabin we had fine for the two of us and faced west overlooking the ocean giving us fantastic sunsets. The downside is that it’s situated nearly 50 kilometres from the neatest store. Only the hotel is near for dinner but is a bit expensive and limited choice. Truman trail,River walk and the Pancake Rocks are not to be missed..

We were given an upgrade at no extra charge meaning we had very spacious accommodation. The unit we stayed in for 3 days was the unit for persons with disabilities and we found this very easy to use. The only down side was the sofa (pull out bed) was uncomfortable to sit on and was the only lounge seating.

It was great to have plenty of bedrooms and really interesting being so close to the waves crashing right out side. Amazing views. The motel was older but had everything we needed and there were plenty of heaters to use, and even electric blankets on all the beds. Shower and bathroom was clean with good water pressure. We only found it tricky checking in because you had to go down to the local tavern to do so. That was the only inconvenient thing. It was amusing that the strength of the waves at high tide actually shook the double bed in that back room. But that made the stay an adventure. Lovely. Would recommend it. Don't worry, the waves didn't crash through the house like I dreamt was happening. Lol

Really nice place to stay, so close to the waves. Only thing that was a little off putting was the room smelt a bit damp when I walked in. Understandable in the West Coast environment. Got use to it, but every time I walked in after being outside you would smell it again. Might be good to air the rooms out before guests arrive perhaps . Otherwise great

Excellent location to see Pancake Rocks
Comfortable and clean accommodation. Beds were comfortable. The units are located at the beachfront and short walking distance from blowholes. This is a very barren landscape that is windswept. The units were nestled in away from the wind.
