Seems nice enough but clearly understaffed and dated despite generally decent upkeep of the property. Access on busy beach days is a little challenging but on site parking is adequate once on property. No food options are located on site except vending machines so most people bring groceries for the kitchen and head into SLO or Pismo/5 Cities for meals. Our room was small but it worked for our family of 5 with the sofa bed and king setup. Kitchen had all the necessities amd bathroom was nice. Overall good facilities but we were a bit past 4 pm for check in and the dishwasher was running super loud for the first 90 minutes of our stay, which is fine but not ideal after a long drive and you hope to relax.

The location of the property was great. Property is really old and we can tell that from everything from carpet to the condition of the bathroom to the switch panels held together with tape. Property needs a serious overhaul.

Awesome resorts
We are members at San Luis Bay and have stayed there quite a few times and has always been very nice. We love what they did with the exercise room and the pool table and Ping-pong table rec room. They both have views of the ocean very nice upgrade. Our room had views of the mountains and views of downtown Avila very beautiful. Walking distance to Avila stores and markets and bars. Also the beach.

Scenic location and beautiful grounds. Our room was partially updated but the furniture and rugs were stained and the appliances were old. The screen door wouldn’t stay on rail. The location is excellent and the staff were nice.

We are regulars at Avila Resort, and , although we had communication problems this time with The Hilton side of this resort, we were able to work thru them.

Property has nice rooms with a lot of activities to do around hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Stores restaurants are easily walkable across Main Street. What are Spa is not special kids. Golf course nearby is not in good shape but really have fun with Pickleball.
