Although this hotel is conveniently located, was clean and the staff were kind, unfortunately the noise level is where it lost all ratings with me. The big red flag was upon entering our room, the hotel provided ear plugs on the bedside table. I should have requested a different room but I thought perhaps they were for the roof construction that was during the day and we wouldn't be in our room during the day so it wouldn't bother us. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. Our room was facing the alley. People walking down the alley, you can hear the conversations as if they are in the room. People in the hallway or in the next room, you can hear everything they do and say. I didn't sleep at all the whole weekend. The garbage and recycling trucks come down the alley in the morning to empty all the dumpsters and they empty multiple dumpsters, so that's your wake up call. There is no noise barrier what so ever. For the price this hotel charges, a guest should not have to wear ear plugs to sleep. Do not stay here if you are wanting a restful, peaceful, relaxing, quiet getaway.

At the time of booking this property, there were no notices or warnings about the construction. Only upon arrival did I realize there was construction. On Saturday at 9am, the construction crew were shouting, throwing material around, which caused me to wake up abruptly. I am fairly disappointed and feel tricked because I was not informed by the construction before booking.

"The hotel room was neat, newly renovated, cozy and spacious. Free breakfast offered variety of selection. The staff were friendly and approachable. The location is just perfect for a walk. Close to all restaurants and shops, and river .

Great location and staff but the hotel is incredibly dated. Thin pillows, bad blankets, no AC, ZERO noise canceling between rooms with the thinning walls and old windows. For the $$$ it is not good and the bottom of the value scale for the whole of Banff. The ownership is obviously making good money at these price so hopefully they are paying the staff well since the money isn’t going in to updates.
